Hey everyone long time lurker here and been at it for awhile now so not really a newb but still very much willing to learn. Right now what I have are 12q ball masons of wbs innocced with agar pucks of tailfeathers strain. I did five transfers from the germ plate to ensure clean myc and dropped them yesterday. I will continually update this thread with how things progress. I have grow lights set on 12/12 at the moment and they run 24/7. I know they arent needed but they are in the same room as my cannabis plants so this will be the first time I have used any supplemental lighting and im excited to see what if any effect it might have. Also I know the picture quality is bad hoping to get a better camera here soon. Enjoy!

5 agar transfers, 6 plates total including germ, hell of a good start.
As far as lighting I had some of those GLP24FS/19W/LED Full Spectrum Plant Grow Light, 24" Dual 19W in a closet for seedlings. When I was done with the seedlings, I threw some shoeboxes under them, same 12/12 cycle you're running.
I put a layer of cling wrap over the showboxes once I saw primordia and poked a bunch of holes with a meat thermometer. Seemed like they had better color. The light noticeably makes mushrooms grow straight. Or if you wanted to get artsy, I always wanted to use different light angles to make different shaped mushrooms.
I had a block of Reshi I ordered this happened to hard core. I fruited it antler style, so the bag was left sealed. I noticed after a few weeks they were all growing at like a 45° angle towards the window seal they were in. So, I turned the blocks 180°. Few more weeks I turned them again. I ended up with Reshi antlers almost 12" tall that were zigzagged.
If you fruit them in the dark you'll notice a big difference in texture, angle they grow and color.

Im running LEDs and soft white CFLs on my plants so it doesn't get that hot. If I had my other setup going I'd be concerned about dehydrating my grains. I havent fruited them in complete darkness before but I imagine its not good I've always had some sort of ambient lighting going on but never a legit grow light. I plan on a 1/3 ratio to coco coir in some shoeboxes. So 12 shoeboxes total. Also thanks for popping in and again sorry for the picture quality will update once they are complete and ready for spawn.

This is interesting, I've never heard that it affects the texture before! I'll have to look into this.

Now that I think about it, they may not have been a different texture. They are just so long and spindly in the dark. While in light they grow straight and thicker. I feel like they were softer which is hardness not texture.
Either way there is a difference just try a grow in the dark vs. light.
