On the natty train boys. Thanks to Guerrilla for the ticket.

I'm logging this grow in the LAGM thread but will shamelessly crosspost some updates in here also.

There was a little bacteria that can be seen around the swab stab.

Two days later... The myc didnt care much about the bacteria and went right over it. It's like a fluffy white cloud.

Looks like it might be attempting an escape already.

I got mine from Wall.E, too.
Managed to fruit one shoebox with low yield in summer this year (didnt even case this one).

Then stopped growing for half a year and now i spawned yesterday from this jars.

If this were Cube jars, I would think they look stressed because of the rhizo growth, is it the same for natalensis?
I mean, they have very aggressive growth on agar, so a bit rhizo growth in jars seems possible.

Giving P.Natalensis a go - so far without luck ...

I have no problem getting great results with cubes and I treated the Nat the same, as far as I understand that's the proper way -

multi-spore syringe to petri to LC to oats then colonized -
added to Coir + Verm in a dubtub at an average of 75f

It's now about a month in of being in fruiting conditions and I'm going to retire them -

Everything smelled fine but took on a kind of orange hue, with some weird greenish bruising and stalled like this at week 2.

Could this be contamination or poor growing conditions or preparation?
I'm thinking I may try to obtain a new starter print or MS... these seem fun and don't quite feel like giving up on them yet.

Looks like you've got some stones growing in that substrate, you sure thats Natelensis? Did you happen to dig in before ditching the bin?

Todays shoeboxes:
All 3 are 1:4 with a 1" coir top layer. First pic is a clone (42g dry), second pic is MS (30g dry). Did not weigh the 3rd tub (MS). Out of laziness, these jars sat for about 5 weeks after 100% colonization. Not sure if the consolidation time made a difference, but these are my best yet and I did nothing out of the ordinary with them.

I really don't know why this pheno doesn't want to stand up straight. No matter what I do, I end up with a box of spaghetti. I went back to an early print for LAGM, so here's hoping I find something different. Both the clone & spores were taken from these fruits:

My theory is the spaghettis might want more FAE

Thank you both for the advice. How is everyone running them? Fruiting chamber? Modded/unmodded mono? Fan in the room?

I know I've seen some good shoebox grows in this thread, but it seems they aren't working out for me. I tried propping the lid, leaving the top tub askew when dub tubbed, but it's very dry here so I spent a lot of time babysitting them when I did that. Thank you again, I'm all ears :takingnotes:

The only time a nat fruit turned tough and erect for me (there's a picture way back) they got way more Fae than intended, but it's merely one experience

I'm glad to hear that this went well for you, because I have a tub at 95% colonization that's 1:4 (millet) with 2cm frosting and using jars that sat for a few extra weeks before I could get to them. Fingers crossed that the extra consolidation helped.

someone somewhere in this thread mentioned they need a lot of air, and showed 2 different grows. Unmodded tub looks like spaghettis, modded tub looks like "normal" mushroom with fatter stipe and bigger caps.

I also believe they are very sensitive to light, I had to point a light right above my tub with clear lid to get it to stand up straight.

MycoWeek I can attest to this. Mine will literally follow the light like sunflowers. I notice if I turn the tub around every other mist/fan session, then they'll have a distinct twist to the stipe!

Has anybody gotten any albino/other cool mutations from these? So far, that one rosecomb is the only truly "strange" looking fruit I've had from mine.

I got a rosecomb today from a bacterial shoebox, but didn't bother cloning it.

My friend I gave a print to grew these which look nothing like anything I’ve grown. He ran them in cube conditions and got better results (more fruits, but smaller caps) than I have been able to manage

So I’ve been using this culture for a long time but not managing it properly at all.  Looks like I finally isolated my way into some weird shit.

Seems I might’ve struck the ape pheno genes
