They look like some that I saw in an ig post yesterday that claimed to be the world's record biggest cub, it was 800g fresh.
Any knows which is the heaviest mushroom posted on shroomery?

There’s an old picture of Melmak floating around here somewhere.
Didn’t show the weight but they were damn near orange cone sized.
The one I’m thinking of is a basket of them sitting on a toilet seat.
You happen to have a link?? I’d like to see an 800g cube.

Wow that’s a hefty shroom.
It’s funny how it’s still got that typical cracked cap just a giant version.

Love the mak pheno you have there though.
Big fan of the squat, chunky stipes

You sure you got enough swabs back there?

Good eye. It is from the same genetics. That isolation is dubbed ‘MRRL’. It has been a banger cut to say the least.

First fully consolidated jar of Melmak, going to shoebox today. Eight more different Melmak cultures in different jars are maturing more slowly but should be ready within a week or two. Never grown any kind of PE other than APE so am looking forward to it.

Yeah still playing with grain prep. It's tough to get it just right when doing rye+millet together. I'm thinking about going to pure rye but haven't decided yet. I'm pretty good at getting grains into the range that is acceptable, but I have a ways to go before I get to where they are right smack dab at the perfect ideal target every time.

I ditched millet because it is hard to hydrate without burst kernal mess. I also prefer working each grain type separately as they don't hydrate the same as each other. I've been using wheat for density, but rye is great for ease of hydration. You have opposite ends if the spectrum there. Oats are like right in the middle of everything and the hulls make it easy to overhydrate. I almost wanna get some rye to try with my current bucket approach... Just don't use rolled grains. Tried rolled barley that I bought by accident once. Regular barley is like oats jr. All of it works if you have enough water content to sterilize the lot and provide hydration to the mycelium. Inconsistent grain hydration can be problematic so any given tek needs to be dialed in along the way.
