Grow Bag Problems
    #2760763 - 06/03/04 04:31 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I had ordered 3 bags and even after 3 months the bags are not fully colonized. I broke 2 of them up today and realized they are dried out in the middle. And I set one outside in indirect light 3 days ago and can't see anything that would lead me to believe growth is coming in other then white "bumps or hills" on the top of the bag. So are all the bags worthless now? Can I save them? And how long should I wait on the outside bag before tossing it?

hmm pics would help
was this a multispore innoc?
i've heard of bags taking a while compared to say WBS
but 3 months is ludicrous
any colors noticable in the bags other than the myc?
was this the first time you broke up/mixed up the colonizing substrate?

Sorry I don't have a digital camera. Anyways I used Eq. spores. No funny colors. And yes this was my first time breaking the substrate. Should I do that earlier? Like once a week?

no not once a week
most people say to break it up after you see the first spot of definite colonization of significant size, then again at 50% colonization and once more before 100%
breaking up the substrate spreads the myc around so it is colonizing from all areas instead of just one
i would break up all your bags
then give em a week or so
you prob will only have to break em up once
