How do I learn more about Native American Church?

I would like to study the Native American Church and its beliefs. Is there any good books or anything I’m genuinely interested in what they believe it’s not just peyote. Although I do believe that mescaline cactus has an old school type of vibe. I’m also interested in Santo Daime church but I would like to understand the meaning behind the trip. I’m just going to a place I don’t understand I feel the need to improve my own shamanism and would like to be around a pro just to understand. I would dedicate my life to these plants without a doubt but I don’t understand the use besides recreation.

Here's a directory of their churches, maybe that can help you find a representative in your area:

Thanks I might try and contact them at some point I don’t currently have a car. I am really interested in learning there beliefs I used to attend a Unitarian Universalist church but I don’t strongly agree with any religion I have studied.

They'll probably want to hear about your Vision Quest so if you haven't done that you might want to do that first.

Sometimes I just start shaking a rattle. seriously
holding out for the shaman, at least a bit, when talk was all superficial
I wish I had a rattle, it's at my ex's, a powerful tool there
I complain they talk too much, then see I'm worse in my own head

40 days is a bit excessive for a vision quest I think but apparently that's what Jesus did, and afterwards talking was everything.

There was a time when I took words in need, world's truth paths in ways I could absorb. Then for a long time I did not read much.
Word volume can be overwhelming but also, I think, a potent practice in its time.

Words may not be requisite in a machine that is sef-aware, which begs the question for whom the machine serves.

If the creator didn't give free-will things wouldn't be such a mess.

Can I fly my mountain into the eye of the needle? I suppose, if remade. This be of one mind stuff. So much seems to oppose it. I guess that is natural to power.

I'm running into devilish stuff today. Not supposed to at the new year juncture. That's what I get for watching a scary movie.
The lunar eclipse some weeks ago - with my background I do not expose myself to them. It was at night so I thought just to sleep, but lay awake and thought I wanted to explore the shadow. I don't astral travel fully in the way I think it should be, but with my mind I thought to go out. not saying it was anything more than that
Venturing through the dark wood, I met a shaman, painted black as if covered in ash. Now this guy, out at night in the eclipse, in his ancient get-up, I thought he was up to no good.
We postured at bit and then were talking some. He repeated as if giving me an incantation of sorts that seems useful but I don't trust using, though I did a little. I don't actually consider him bad or a danger to me now, I like to think of him as an associate in friendship, though wary.
I don't mean to say i think shamans in general are bad at all. I met one in the physical, a young lakota. That guy had so much passion in the spirit.
Shit I just remembered. The ghost shaman I should have given something in return. I guess I kind of did of myself like he did. But maybe I will put out some tobacco. Can a ghost shaman use tobacco? I'm not being facetious.

Hmm, I didn't think of him as a hungry ghost. Could be.

Hungry ghosts lack affection. Come visit me in Florida. You'll find your cell most disagreeable, poor food, bugs and no running water. A week with me and you will be a changed man.

Even the subway ghost shows some affection after he teaches Sam to use the telekinesis, saying, "You did it! Way to go kid."

Okay, I shuffled 3 times, now we just need to know the question.
What question would you like to ask the magic deck?

I've consulted the I Ching occasionally. I don't really like doing the oracle stuff. Do you have them answer a question more than once to confirm, or only once?
