Number 1. I fully support anyone trying new shit and sharing it, or not sharing, you do you, and the more we experiment the further everyone gets ahead.
But that's the thing. Experiment. The only issue I have is that it seems like you are failing to experiment. Even if you have flawless technique, your DIY laminar flow hood for 40$ works perfectly, and you have the eye of an eagle when it come to contamination, you still have yet to put a grain to agar or under the microscope (that you say you have). You have no idea what you have in those jars. Period.
Hell if you even posted your jars, nobody here could be able to see the contamination unless it's rampant. You are claiming BIG things, but doing it very unscientifically. You even took offense when other people said you might not be able to see the contamination. That's just not very scientific of you.
Try new things, post about them, but don't say wild things, claim they work within days time, and get upset when people call you out, or recommend some good practices to follow when it comes to your experiment.
At some point you might just disappear claiming it worked 100% or that you didn't like the way you were treated, just so it can be a "what if" in people's minds, but it adds nothing. But then again you said you don't want this post to be helpful.
People here gave you some great ideas on how to move your experiment forward. Drop the ego and listen to them.
You’re allowed to your own opinion but I strongly disagree

Like i said, be patient, I’m going to follow up with all the details you guys are requesting, I will put grain on agar and under the microscope (probably won’t be able to share that picture with y’all because I realized the additives are still present on the grain even after washing them throughly) I only recently found this out because I left some grain out and it dried up leaving residue from the “additives” which is probably helping prolong shelf life, but yea I’ll get you all that information in due time as long as it doesn’t jeopardize revealing the process or “additives”
ego is a gross misconception and illusion, everyone in this life has some degree of “self” otherwise they wouldn’t be able to to function in society but that’s neither here nor there

Also just want to update its day 10 still no visible signs of contamination and the oyster mycelium is still plugging away at it happily consuming the modified grain

I want everyone to look closely at these jars I hydrated them and added my proprietary ingredients the same as the other jars, the only difference is that I never pressure cooked them, they were left on the counter as is
They were made on 12/26/2021 exactly 5 days ago
Now I’m not trying to sound smug or say I told you so........ But, this reinforces my claim that I can see visible contamination And that 5 days is in fact plenty of time for contamination to show its self, in all my experience, contamination is almost always faster then true mushroom mycelium
Also day 11 and still no contamination on the heat treated test
Also another promising claim, 2 jars were made the same way and same time as the jars from 12/26/2021 the variable in this test was that they were microwaved in jars with plastic lids, so at 5 days and the microwave tested jars are still clean in contrast to the jars that were not heat treated

5 days is enough for some contaminants to show themselves. No one ever argued that. But there's a plethora of other types that can take a lot longer to show up. So I think we're still waaaay ahead of any I told you so's.
Looking good though

I actually agree, but the way people were making it sound, was as if nothing would show up in 5 days, now I want to do an un treated plain oats for 5 days left out to contaminate and compare notes
But yea I’ll be updating again at the 2 week/14 day mark

i'd love to see some pictures of jars or bags or something in a thread like this. even spreadsheets with test data. i respect what op is trying to do, but if you're trying to keep everything to yourself, why post a thread about it?
what you've got is a thread with no technique, no pictures, no data, basically no content. And i say this is a person who is interested in what you're doing and working on something similar. i haven't posted about it because i'm still fleshing out the idea, like you are. Anyways, I hope it works out for you op.

Those pics were of the contamination uncooked jars I figured it wouldn’t hurt to share those, hell at this point I might as well share the good jars as well 😂

7Suns thank you. This post caused me to deep dive into journals covering a WIDE WIDE range of topics to reverse engineer what you may be doing. I don't think I would have even tried to look for a new method without this post. For some reason, I really wanted to figure out this puzzle.
By assuming that it MAY be possible, I uncovered about 2 new novel experiments I want to try myself.
I wish there were challenge posts on this forum. Something like "Assuming you can sterilize oats in as little as 60 minutes — how would you do it? Provide journals or studies to back up your hypothesis." I think it could be a fun thought exercise and lead to cool discoveries.

Absolutely love this,
everyone gets caught up on “following procedures” but I love to see innovation, hypothesis, experimentations and to inspire others to be creative and use the existing techniques and knowledge base found here and elsewhere to pioneer new research and methods
Granted there’s no substitute for proven techniques but if you have time, and extra materials you don’t mind sacrificing I say yes absolutely play around and see what you can figure out, obviously a bit of wisdom is to base your hypothesis on rational educated guesses so you at least have a foundation to work from

2 week update
Well the results are in but I’m not ruling it out as conclusive just yet, it’s day 14 and there is unfortunately a small spot of contamination on both of the un inoculated jars at 30 minute and 60 minute intervals, however I don’t think this is conclusive hard proof, I’d actually argue it was operator error
The contamination appears to be wispy white mycelium about the size of a United States dime, so it’s not bacterial (yet) also it strikes me as odd because in both un-inoculated jars this contamination is only present in one spot located at the very top of the grain where it meets the air/head space in the jar, leading me to believe either the filter isn’t sufficient and has allowed contamination in or an improper seal on the jar lid also potential back draft when tightening down lids after removing from the pressure cooker
There is no other contamination visible besides the individual spot at the very top, if it was failed sterilization, it would be mixed all through out the grain, I’ve demonstrated this before with un-sterilized jars
You guys are absolutely right saying 2 jars are not enough, this was my first time testing this theory, now I have a basis to expand on and see if I can improve or remove the factors that contributed to this failure
Failed filter or sealing ring
Versus
Improper sterilization from an unrelated experiment

Keep lurking, I will update again with a new batch soon and I’ll try and provide better detailed information
Ways I plan to eliminate possible introduction of contamination via lids/filter :
Open the pressure cooker in front of the flowhood
Do some tests with no filter just plain sealed lids
Use brand new lids instead of used/possibly damaged lids
Honestly that’s till impressive that it resisted contamination for 2 weeks
Also a side note, the jars inoculated with oysters seem to be doing fine, and are nearing 100% so if I don’t see anything I suspect to be contamination, I will probably spawn them and do a little growth log to report how it does and if it later contaminates during fruiting,
if there is contamination in the inoculated jars I obviously can’t tell the difference considering the only contamination that presented on the un-inoculated jars is also white and wispy mycelium
Again thank you everyone for following this thread, more updates coming soon

Bummer but thanks for the update. It will be interesting to see how the oyster jars produce but I will say 2 weeks is a pretty long time for oysters, in my experience. They usually finish pretty damn quick.
Still excited to keep tuning in to what you figure out!
