rampant corruption, uncontrolled troll farms using social media to tear us apart, seems like tech industry is willingly let foreign influence dictate our future for their own short term gain. is there a way for us to weather this storm? or we are fucked?

Money corrupts and the idea that zero regulation is the best thing to do in all aspects of society is only wishful thinking. Those with the biggest pockets of money will take control of everything that suits their agenda regardless of the outcome for the rest of society. Add legalized corruption in the form of lobbying and you no longer have a free market but a market controlled by a few major players. It will not be sustainable in the long term but damage will occur.

How is the "tech industry is willingly let foreign influence dictate our (US) future?

letting troll farms setting up account where their sole purpose is to divide the citizen of USA, and brainwash our youth to their ideology. They don't care of these people are making our citizens crazy, they only care about engagement on their platform, which brings in more ad revenue.
American citizens simply cannot do the same by making fun of Chinese or Russian government on their platform.
I cherish our 1st amendment, but the same right shouldn't be handed out to foreign influence who simply want to fuck with our democracy.

Tech companies are not the US government, and so the 1st amendment doesn't apply.

You are absolutely wrong by saying Americans can set up social media account in china and blast CCP with it, their citizens can't even do it. Not too sure the case with Russia, but I am sure they don't enjoy the same 1st amendment protection we have.
Tech companies are not the government, but they are still protected by 1st amendment where no restriction should be applied to their platform. Having said that, I am OK where Americans can freely blast their government all they want to other Americans on social media platforms, but social media need to start restricting foreign sources from abusing our constitution.

In my opinion, the US population is already heavily divided and "troll farms" are the least of the reasons for that division. It's very convenient to blame foreigners or technology companies for the destruction of the US working class and the division that it brings.
Why does the MSM get a free ride for its efforts to divide the US working class?

The country is definitely divided before social media become main stream, which is a good thing in someway where it remains diverse with fresh new ideas.
MSM is responsible for a lot of the divisiveness, but I firmly believe foreign influence is just cherry on the top.
this is not my original idea, I've heard it time and time again from former or current intelligence agents on podcast mentioning it as a new form of threat.
maybe I just can't admit the idea how fucked up this country is now, and I am using foreign influence as scape goat for our problems........

America is no longer the super power we once were especially with the woke biden administration running the show. If Russia an china want to make any moves now is the time since we are vulnerable. Or own government is more worried about terrorists parents at school board meetings than what ever china an Russia are up to.

So you want America to police the world then ? Me too . What we need is a good old fashioned military build up , and a draft . Fuck spending money on infrastructure. We need more toys for killing the Russians and the Chinese . Just nuking them isn't good enough . We need to build shit and draft people so we can say , "" seee , we don't even need them nukes , we'll fuck you up without em , we already won on paper , twice . " That's how we rule the world , spend all your money , your kids money , your grandkids money , and you can hate me and everyone else who isn't like you while it's happening ! Cool huh ?

A lot of countries hate the US mostly out of envy and jealousy. I think the US is doing great or else people would stop trying to sneak in.
