pix tax: Fixing (new) plates -- annoying little contam in the last batch. Poured these last night.
Oats are drying and soon to be loaded up and PCed. I need to modify a few lids first. Here we go! More coffee and weed...and more plates tonight! Keeping them rolling. Also, put six to grain last night .

The power of the poke...I wanted to get a Huatla culture going for a whole host of personal reasons, and I couldn't get away from some sneaky mold. I'd have great looking plates, think I was ready for grain, then the shit would show up. I poked a healthy looking area made some LC and here we are now, all I wanted was something to clone.

Great looking pinset. When were you seeing the sneaky mold before (plate, grain jar, or tub) and how was it presenting?

Thank you man. It was mainly showing up on my plates, oddly enough the best looking ones I kept setting aside to expand. The timing was weird too, they'd last about a week plus a few days after transfer and then boom, asshole mold. I had another plate that was less organized but seemingly clean, sent a wedge to grain, and it looked great until the first shake, then that same fkn mold showed up. I honestly can't remember the plate I poked, it very well may have stayed clean but it was honestly a hail mary at that point.
And fuck yeah faht, +37, that tub is otherworldly

Squash bugs... the BANE of my existence. They will destroy a garden in no time flat and they multiply like crazy. The only organic solution for them is to grow things that produce vegetables so fast, the squash bugs don't have time to kill the plant before the vegetables arrive. That means summer squash. Winter squash can be near impossible to grow due to the long fruit time.

Just grow both earlier in the season before the squash beetles expand. Also if you manually remove the eggs and apply neem then you're gonna be fine. Literally flip the leaves and pinch the eggs with the back of your nails.

How long (approximately) it takes for jars to fully colonizes after agar to grain transfer? I made some transfers week ago and there are two colonized parts some inch or two at most wide (i mostly took two pieces of agar some 1/4 inch long/wide).
I used corn (i know, you will say use rye, but I did and it was the same, maybe even slower).
I ask since this way it will take forever until fully colonized. Temperature is some 23-28 most days so it is almost perfect.
I have 4 or 5 different strains on it, LPEU is for now the fastest one.

That seems like a reasonable growth rate for how small of a piece you dropped in the jar. I usually do about 2"x2" per jar and see full colonization in ~2-3 weeks. shake the jar up when you hit 30% colonization and it will speed the process up a little bit
