I'm going to guess much more of it has to do with the pissed off, fucked over one too many times natives.
The Colton Boushie shooting case was kind of a touchpoint for tensions between the two groups over property crime. Similar in significance to the Trayvon Martin case. The farmer got off but not by arguing self-defence, but that it was an accident involving a hang fire because the ammunition was old. Supposedly the original trigger pull was supposed to be a warning shot into the air.

The NE is definitely aggressive. The driving has been absolutely insane, I've seen some egregious shit happen on the roads as of late(like driving in work zones/closed lanes to pass people on the right), it's always been bad and it is definitely noticeably worse. I'm in the part that many would consider an extension of NY, southernmost piece of New England. Funny thing is if I drive an hour East I can access some pretty decent waves, and if I head North I can get to some pretty awesome trails. There are good people here and quiet pockets nestled in the madness. We have a lot of tree diversity and a lot of cool shit to look at. But it definitely loves up to the reputation described in this thread.

A good friend of mine is native. He's the nicest guy you'd ever meet, but if you fuck with him or his family, all the cousins will show up at your house with bats and fuck you up. Natives have a very different culture in some ways.

America believes in the individual being the driving force of one's own future, rather than some other places that emphasize community, teamwork, etc... to be very important as well.
I feel like the American attitude of unnecessary self reliance just makes things harder for everyone

Some Americans and the OP think that any sign that you are not completely self reliant is a sign of weakness. “I don’t need the vaccine because I have a healthy immune system” is an example of this.

Some Americans would probably eat their own foot
Some Americans would drink or drug themselves to oblivion
Some Americans are also sending shit to Mars for the exploration of humankind
I think there are like 360 million people in US, that’s gotta be 10 times the population of Canada, and I’ll bet there are some really interesting layers of diversity, intelligence and idiocy there too.

There’s a bunch of 1,2s and 3s and I guess that means something. How did you conjure up two 12’s like that. It’s sorcery.
