Happy veterans day
    #27538880 - 11/11/21 07:27 AM (2 years, 2 months ago)

Just wanted to wish all my brothers and sisters around the world, who have served their country in arms, a HAPPY VETERANS DAY!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE :irishtoast::cheers:

This day isn't just about American former service members in my opinion but a day to honor the ALL whom have served.

Yes, but unfortunately, sometimes war is a necessary evil!!!

If our society didn't paint military service to be such an honorable cause then far fewer people would join and die/be psychologically scarred in morally dubious conflicts that often have little to do with national security. Was Korea necessary? Was Vietnam necessary? Were the military supported coups in Latin America necessary? Was the gulf War necessary? Was Iraq, you know that war predicated on lies like so many other wars that destabilized the region allowing ISIS to rampage through, necessary? Was Afghanistan necessary??

If you want to waste the one life you have as a killing pawn for an imperialistic superpower that routinely is dishonest about its goals then Im not sure how much I could support you. The government takes advantage of this widespread support for veterans and the naivete of young men who think they're immortal and want a piece of adventure or just have few other options to support their families to fill the ranks and then provides almost no help readjusting to society. Calling veterans heros and having a holiday for them doesn't actually take a step towards solving this problem but instead just feeds into it.

Phhh "war is a necessary evil." Yeah, defend war of all things instead acknowledging that so many peoples brothers died for no good reason. You're part of the problem.

:whathesaid:

...was nato bombing of Yugoslavia nessesary ?

Hell i often get flashbacks of those long wave sirens for airborne danger and memories of ground shaking and glass shattering from the merciful nato bombs that wrecked the fuck out of my country haunt me to this day.

So happy veterans day also to Colonel Zoltan Dani and his brigade who shot f117a over Serbian sky with beautiful s-125 neva; we 90s serbies kids were just busy at the time singing songs how clinton can suck dick.

And happy veterans day to all alive ww2 veterans, there was a time in history when usa waged war against real evil, not just create wars for the fuck of it.

They were all necessary,  but unfortunately, politicians not Generals are in control. When a President allows the Generals to do their job, you get results like the defeat of Isis. In every conflict since the second world war, politicians have tied the hands of our military, which ultimately caused the loss of those conflicts,  even though we won the battles. Remove politicians from the mix, once it is decided to send in troop, let the military do what they train to do and are paid to do. When that happens,  we will see real results.
