Just got the same one! I heard that you have to open the autoclave as soon as temperature drops below 100 otherwise the vacuum can break some parts. Any infos on that?
Also waiting for an electrician. You also got the 230V Version? You‘ll need an extra breaker as normal outlets only handle max 3.6kw (at least where I live) and you‘ll need 6kw

Yes (and no). I'm filling two humidity chambers with cakes as I've been learning (about ~35ish cakes). I have another ~40 cakes, a much-improved technique (experience!) helping, going into the works and I'm planning at least one larger-than-shoebox experience. The rest will most likely go to shoeboxes of a few sizes (I've only run 6qt thus far). I'm taking prints/tissue samples to agar and then working on oats to monos for a more consistent flush of the fruits I've enjoyed .
I...dove into the deep end and am really just trying not to piss my wife off with how much space I'm taking over in the closet. She enjoyed the MDKs though...so she seems happy about it all, hahaha.

I think this qualifies... Through much searching I've managed to secure a source of very clean, cheap wheat. No more oats for this guy.

I did not read through the entire post so if this is not a "new" idea I apologize...
As I "rest" my SAB after loading with wyatt ever process I'm trying to progress I cover my hand holes with vinyl cling sheets. Never had a problem and like how easy they are to remove and stick to the box. When I release them I do it slowly so as to limit the disturbance of the "settled" air inside the box. Comments welcome on this technique.

Dont trust your life to a non contact voltage tester...Make sure it works on the wires when it's definitely on at least. They can give false negative and then you touchy.

So I'm a little stumped and my electrician is MIA. I have th 150L sh scientific. The wire has blue, gray, and ground. My wall has red, black, white, and ground. There's the instilled outlet which I got the plug for and then the alternative 6-50 I just got when I didn't know how to wire the 14-50.

Is it 240 or 120. Because 240 USA has no nuetral (white) and would be the black and red to the blue and grey (doesnt matter which to which)
Household 4 wire 240 circuits have the neutral in the bundle to make 120v connections but you dont use it if your not making 120 connections.

Yeah 240 USA. So I can use the 14-50 and I just ignore the prong that would connect with the white wire?

Here are a few items I have been using that I found useful.
I use this candle snuffer to extinguish alcohol lamps, so that I don't have to bring my hand close to the fire to extinguish it. This is important if you are working with gloves and isopropyl or other flammable liquids and fire safety in general is something I don't think gets a lot of attention. I plan on making a dedicated post specifically about fire safety and how to be a bit safer in this hobby.
This is a pair of curved, long scissors that are typically used for manicuring coral or other aquarium life. I use these scissors as a utility for a couple things:
- I use these scissors for cleanly separating a cap from the stem for spore printing. This can be done after disinfecting and sanitizing the scissors if you'd like.
- I use these for selectively harvesting certain fruits without twisting and pulling, so that I don't disturb the substrate in certain scenarios where there is an older fruit among ones that are not ready.
- I also use these for cutting the substrate away from harvested fruits prior to dehyrdrating

When I was first working with my SAB, I was using it inside a closet.
I had a bundle of kitchen paper soaked in iso on top of the SAB. I flamed, flame went out, put the torch sorta near the iso towel, BOOM huge ball of flames... panicked hard carried it to the bathroom chucked it into the bath, went back to the closet and was still more on fire in there lol

Burnin down the house!
Got the 150L running with 25 bags
Reading the manual closely helps for operation no doubt.
Thanks sandman! Wasn't confident about the wiring, but as you said; it is so, and it seems good.

I do it regularly just to remind myself I'm alive, seriously though.... did it 3 days ago again after applying too much iso to my knife and holding it at the incorrect angle when flaming it.
