Venus Transit Countdown

Hi this thread is for people to discuss the upcoming Venus Transit, what they are doing to spiritually prepare themselves, what sort of cleanstacular preparations they are making (bowel flush, finger fast, mushroom binge, weapon stockpile etc.), what sort of Astrological revelations people have and expectations they expect to have, also it's in preparation for the expectations you have to have in order to prepare.
I don't really know what to say about this I'm being a wise ass as usual but some people say this is THE event of the year for "light workers", "neo shamans", "mediums", "psychic friends", "spastics", "dweebs" "dweebies" and John Edward so I dunno why noone's talkin about it here in Spirituality and Philosophy.
June 8, 2004 is being promoted worldwide as the Global Oneness Celebration. Spiritual teachers from different religions and faiths, artists and musicians will get together and celebrate the biggest spiritual event in human history. This period is considered to be auspicious for the world to make a new beginning and hence the concept of celebration.

We were evolved and created from the earth. Celebrating Venus is just like celebrating an Aunt's birthday

the planets are the guides to our astral spirit minds, its sad really...
humans in the modern world are sleepwalking, their minds untuned to their true awakening. Consumerism's shackles have locked us up into a box, keeping our mind-planets away from the path of our true spirit-quest.
RISE UP!!!! AND LOVE THEEE PLANETS AND STARS ON JUNE 28th!!!

I agree with everyone on this thread so far
Positronius , I agree 100%, but still, what does that have to do with the planets literally effecting us.
I think the planets can be used as a form of measurement, and whatnot, and I think certainly the cycles the planets follow effect humanity.
But little things like "Harmonic Convergence of all planets" blah blah, and the planets aligning themselves.
that stuff is all Hype

Could you be a little more vague?

Come on SC, this is basic physics. Gravity diminishes by the square of the distance. A passing car will have a hundredfold more gravitational pull on you than the moon.

The planets have an effect. However it is immeasurable and insignificant and certainly has no bearing on personality, human events nor one's emotional well-being or future.
Hey! Did you just feel that? I jumped up thereby pushing the planet and all its inhabitants away from me. Guess you did not feel it as I probably have only moved you about 10^-13 inches.

Besides, I am an S.T.N.A., in a nursing home. You should see how some of the old folks act during the full moon. During the full moon, I always expect to come home with a few bumps and bruises. Your anecdote aside, large-scale studies have shown no difference in accidents, violence, hopital admissions, etc. on full-moon nights.
Any cop will tell you the same exact thing. I don't look to law enforcement for scientific and statistical analysis.

full article here Ivan Kelly, James Rotton and Roger Culver (1996) examined over 100 studies on lunar effects and concluded that the studies have failed to show a reliable and significant correlation (i.e., one not likely due to chance) between the full moon, or any other phase of the moon, and each of the following: -the homicide rate -traffic accidents -crisis calls to police or fire stations -domestic violence -births of babies -suicide -major disasters -casino payout rates -assassinations -kidnappings -aggression by professional hockey players -violence in prisons -psychiatric admissions [one study found admissions were lowest during a full moon] -agitated behavior by nursing home residents -assaults -gunshot wounds -stabbings -emergency room admissions [but see] -behavioral outbursts of psychologically challenged rural adults -lycanthropy -vampirism -alcoholism -sleep walking -epilepsy If so many studies have failed to prove a significant correlation between the full moon and anything, why do so many people believe in these lunar myths? Kelly, Rotton, and Culver suspect four factors: media effects, folklore and tradition, misconceptions, and cognitive biases. A fifth factor should be considered, as well: communal reinforcement. I need to give a class on how to use an internet search engine before posting.

Yer wrong, Swam-meister. I don't care what study you pull out of your hat.
When I was a waitress, a long, long time ago, in a far away land, us waitresses could always tell it was a full moon by how weird the customers acted, ALL ON THE SAME NIGHT.
