Does anyone know why half of these wavys turnes black? Happened when we didnt get rain for a few days.. others took there place, but.. when i do a search all i find are spores dropping on tops, which obviously, this is a diff scenerio, now i see it happening with it still raining here..
Still good to eat? They arent soft and mushy, which is what people say thats the time to cutt loses.. but, would anyone with knowledge of this chime in please?
I picked some that were on their way today to being black.. just not sure if i want to keep them, or spread them.

Could be from the cold, Could be bits of rot just on the surface of the cap, hard to tell. It does happen when exposed to cold then they warm up. I would personally bury the black ones in some mulch.

Seattle
Nothing too gnarly to share yet. It's been a very slow season for me so far. Mostly sporadic smaller clusters, although there were quite a few, including some nice beefy ones.
Still only finding these in super shaded spots. I bet most other patches start flushing in the next few days with the expected temp drop.

Has anyone had any luck finding Cyans in dune grasses, similar to the sandy dune grass habitat Azures grow in?
The very first mushrooms I found in the wild, back when I was 15, were cyans. I found them in dune grasses at a waterfront park near Seattle. Since then I haven't found them again in such a habitat. I've found plenty of Azures in that kind of habitat, but never any Cyans for some reason.

Sweet! I don't know how I managed to find well over 100 azures but not a single cyan. Were they next to trees or just out in the dune grasses?

I found them in a sort of transition zone where dunes met treeline...

Can I please get an ID check for the 5% of me that is unsure? 95% sure I have the right things. Found on central OR coast in Dune Grass. Although the middle one looks suspicious the stipe was white- it just fell off. I believe I have a mix of Cyans and 1 or 2 small Azures.
Some of the stipes seemed reeeally long compared to cyans I've found inland!
Thank you!

This isn't really the place for ID requests but those do look like cyans to me, could also be azures
