I've done well on shib but please keep in mind it's gone up 1K% in a month and 1M% in a year with a market cap curently at 32B. I think it has some legs but I'm only playing the long shot because I'm working with "play money". Anything is possible but the odds of it ever reaching 1c or even .10 are highly improbable. Please don't put all your eggs in one basket.

What's the best move for a noob?

Go back 30 pages and read up?

I bought BTC a long time ago but not much and haven't got into anything else besides a little bit of chainlink last year.

Advice appreciated. Will be lurking here often now

geo can give the best advice on this thread but what has served me well is diversity. I carry a dozen or so assets in my portfolio and trade in increments. Sell 20-25% on 25% gains and buy (loosely) on 15% dips depending on the market.

Lately I've been trying to keep a practice of retaining 50% of my initial investment on assets I've taking gains on that I believe still have room for growth.

I hope it does budmanman I wish you well. I've been watching over the last couple weeks with grinding teeth waiting for your day in the sun.

geo I apologize if I've played a part in derailing the subject matter of your thread. It's difficult not to share\rejoice in strategies that have been fruitful.

A lot of people are crying today because their coins are all tanking because they invested in something real.

This is crypto that isn't the best play, you gotta buy some real dirty stupid retard shit.

If you are not in the really dirty stupid retard shit you might as well just buy some stocks.

I agree (some) portion of your portfolio should be high risk.

As said earlier taking an interest loan to buy even the most credible assets is a terrible idea.

Polkadot is looking to breakout soon to ATH and when parachains auctions hit at Nov 11, Demand is expected to be high due to crowdloan projects. KSM parachain auctions had really good returns so DOT could do the same.
I would not be surprised to see do above $100 very soon.

It's all good Grim.  I may have started this thread, but it's for everyone who is interested in crypto.  budman, congrats, I hope you're taking some sort of profits along the way, because you caught a good move and it would be unfortunate to let it fizzle away.

Obviously, there is a place for high risk investments in this sector.  It's a difficult proposition for me to take, because I just don't like having to keep track of so many things and the vast majority will be worth next to nothing, but as a case in point, get a load of this wallet, having purchased $8000 worth of SHIB last August through Uniswap, which was at one point today worth as much as $5.7 Billion.

From $8K to $5B+ in ~400 days.  Pretty remarkable, and by far the best trade I've ever seen.

      :mindblown:

Meanwhile, for us mere mortals, I'm keeping a close eye on Terra (LUNA).  Interesting integrated algorithmic based stablecoin system, has a new AMM called AstroPort in the pipe that looks set to launch soon and may even attempt to vampire off of the existing Terraswap AMM by airdropping AstroPort governance tokens to all LUNA holders as well as additional allocations to certain LP pools within the Terraswap application.  LUNA has been performing admirably already, and with the new AMM will likely attract more TVL in its DeFi ecosystem, Terra appears to a contender in the race to become a leading L1 ecosystem.

Edit:  Looks like that ETH wallet with the $5B in SHIB hasn't had any outgoing txn's in 193 days... poor (rich) bastard probably lost his keys or passed away.  Very unlikely someone wouldn't be taking profits on an $8K investment once it reached the millions, let alone billions in value.

Pretty much, easy money.

I'm seeing it's listed as trade-only. That means I'll have to trade it into other currencies before being able to revert it back to money, right?

I apologize, I meant to add that yes I believe that is what it means.

I've only ever used kraken, binance, and coinbasepro

I prefer coinbasepro

I thought that some exchanges make you buy certain coins with another accepted coin, thought I had that on binance maybe, sounds like what you're saying

If you have the time it would be greatly appreciated if you could break down your process of adding liquidity to AMM on LUNA. I was in the AMM pool for SHIB on coinex but it was a bitch to set up. I'm transitioning moving across the country so I don't even have a PC right now everything I do is mobile or tablet.I understand it's a big ask so don't put yourself out. I'll figure it out when I'm stabilized in December.
