i waas on a bike ride through some trails and saw a dark brown cap.. i kicked it over and it had a red stipe and fuzzy yellow gills.. anyone have an idea of wht species it is?

First, if you want an ID of something, read the sticky thread at the top of the forum. That description is so vague that it probably covers at least a hundred possible mushrooms. If I had to atke a wild guess, it could be any of several species of Boletus.

If you want to identify a mushroom, pick it and bring it home. That way you can answer questions about it that you didn't think of when you saw it in the woods (or wherever).
