That massive wave of honeys are dying up here as we speak. Just hoping for some rain and my fingers are crossed for my first psilocybe find.

I found a honey mushroom over 1 ft tall. And like 9 inch cap.. and like 2 inch thick stem. Never seen em get this big in my life. Also some of the biggest pluteus mushrooms I've ever seen in my life.

Is this a recent find? That is an interesting color difference. Going back out today on lunch to check the same creek I scouted late last week. Cooler temps and rain on Saturday may have encouraged some fruiting over the weekend.

I’d love to know specifically where in NJ these can be found. I’ve been looking for them literally for years in Sussex County and Have not found a single one. I’ve looked in the flood plains, beech tree debris, wet, dry. I’ve had ticks, poison ivy, thorns, cuts. You name it. I swear I’ve paid my dues. Please help me out!!

A lot of New Jersey is in the coastal plain and you’re probably not going to have much luck there. Keep your searches west of I-95

Think they might be present in the MD suburbs in the next few weeks, Koods? I actually haven't seen much of anything in the way of mushrooms at all. It's been really dry this month though.

I don’t really look in the fall. They really don’t do anything around here. The most I’ve found is a couple randoms searching in places I’m know they fruit and it’s still hard to find them buried under carpets of stilt grass and leaves. This year the leaves haven’t even started to fall so it might be a bit easier.
I’m thinking about hitting up the Susquehanna where that variety does fruit quite prolifically in the fall

None yet this fall in patches that fruited this year in June (Finger Lakes Region)....
Cyans popping up like crazy though.
