OK!!! Just wanted to say thanks everyone again. It has now been 24 hours and all signs of the cobweb are gone. I have misted it twice withing that time period, but after the initial misting I have not seen it. THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

Update... I now have pins. It looks like the casing has recovered and there is no cobweb growing. I am so excited since this is my first grow and all. I can almost see them growing. Everytime I look at them they are bigger

I find that with 100% pure coir, the fuzzy mycelium that first shows up when incubating a casing, looks a little dark(because of the coir)
But I still love using 100% coir. (for MANY reasons)

so what are your reasons for using 100% coir? I just tried it because it was really easy and I heard people had really good results with it...

Its cheap, easy, comes in bricks, not huge bags like verm.
It also drys out a little easier , which I LIKE, because my casings never get to wet.
Its LIKE peatmoss but its not acidic and I use it for more then just fungi.
Its funny my friend ha a lizard and showed me that his brick cost 8.99 and mine for plants from the nursery costs, 2.35
Dont be fooled folks, it may have a picture of a happy lizard on the front but its just coconut fiber, in a brick
Nice work Yeehaw, glad to see it worked out.
I remember your pin questions....so how long did it take IN TOTAL(days) to see your first pins?????? I remember that feeling (cherish these next weeks, you only have a FIRST grow once GOOD JOB

It was a total of 42 days from when I innoculated the jars until I first saw pins. I did pf jars in pints though... bad move. I have learned a lot from doing it myself other than what you can read. My next grow will be birdseed based and hopefull it will not take a month for the jars to colonize. Thanks everyone for all the help!
