I just want to take a poll to see how many of the communitys cakes make it??? Out of 12 jars i always loss like 4-5, Never had 12 jars make it???,,,How many of your cakes survive??? :mushroom2:

All of my cakes survive, I lost only 1 jar/cake and it was MY mistake, and that was my only loss, so from 24 jars I only lost 1.

Very few BRF jars have ever contammed...Now WBS is another srory

My main problem with WBS was not letting it soak long enough for the endospored to germinate...Also i simmer after soaking to get water content right...Props to Maga for the simmer tip cause it works very well that way

ive made 11 jars, birthed only 3 of them so far and nothing has contammed yet. I think i see my first primordia on the first cake i birthed! im so excited!

My first ghetto grow is coming to an end now. Started with 12 BRF 1/2 pint jars and now I'm down to 5. One of them I birthed and the rest I'm going to case in a couple days. My WBS jars that I started 2 weeks ago are great and I havn't lost one yet.

I just got done my first grow. I tossed two, only because they stalled and completely stopped growing after a week.

I very rarley get contams in PF Jars......your losing almost half...thats too much....perhaps you should reconsider your sterilization process?

a friend of mine usually loses 1 or 2 out 12 (anymore and its usually the syringe to blame). current he has 12 jars on the go that were injected with 2 different strains.. no contams at all yet (and it has been a long time since innoc too) but only half of the jars have any signs of growth.. does this happen very often?

I've never lost a cake to contams during the incubation process. It's all in how far you go with sterilation, and if you have a reliable spore syringe. Do not cut any corners with PF Tek and you will be just fine. Follow all directions EXACTLY!

Never lost a pf jar. I have tried wbs but lost them to bacterial contam. I think its time for round 2 of mycelium vs. wbs. I am also doing a bulk straw grow that is going great so far. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I am 12/12 with PF jars.
How come WBS is so much more appealing to contams?

I do 42 1/2pt jars at a time.
Rye grass seed flower/ pf tek.
5 or 6 jars lost. :goodluck:

arghhh corn I have a hard time with I lost three of seven on the last batch I think I had the water content too high it was some weird nast shit
finch or millet I lose about 1 in 20 to stinky bacteria
BRF/verm very few untill after birth unless I got a bad syringe

I haven't lost any cakes that were colonizing yet...
The only 4 I had to throw out was because my cool box got infected with bacteria but that was due to dumbness on my part...
Then again I haven't been in the business for long so we'll see I guess
