Looks like Psilocybe cyanescens. Do they bruise blue? Have you any more mature specimens?

I'm nearly sure they're cyans, I think I see a little bluing on the stem. I just a bit hesitant to say for sure because they look a bit atypical and I don't have first hand experience with them myself, but I'm sure someone else will probably come along and confirm them soon. I would say leave them a couple of days to come back to them.

From my learning they are not. I have never found them but done research. I would let them grow more and then revisit. No need to poison yourself.

I didn't plan on eating them until I knew 100% I believe they are as they have all/most of the identifying features but will wait untill someone more experienced can confirm

It's not that these guys are not experienced, it's just hard to tell a mushroom species at such an early stage of it's short life

I don't see ANY blue bruising in the posted pictures and have NEVER seen Cyanescens growing directly from wood like that, only from wood chips/mulch. I would like to see a spore print or obvious bluish bruising.

I've been watching this thread for a while scratching my head thinking, huh, they don't usually grow out directly from logs. Maybe OP can post another picture showing the bruising?

It's gone from blueish to darker on the stem how would I do a spore print if the mushroom is part dry or would I need to wait to get some more specimens

Should still be good for doing a spore print. Cut off the stem and set the cap gills down on a piece of paper, cover with a glass or something and leave to print overnight.
I think I see more bluing in your pic, but the lighting isnβt that good. Iβm getting more confident that itβs P. cyanescens though. Yes, itβs unusual to see them growing wild like that, ie not in a wood chip bed, but not unheard of in the UK.

I can at least verify that cyans will and can fruit directly off wood. At least they do in WA, I have found them myself fruiting directly off of downed trees and branches.

I have found them growing directly form logs but usually very decayed wood. Looks like bruising but agree with the comments on taking a spore print.

I don't see what other mushroom it could be I have done a lot of research since yesterday evening and can't find any that resemble p cyanecens as much as these do even the lookalikes to p cyans don't look much alike compared π€·

A spore print would go a long way to 110% ruling out any lookalikes as most lookalikes and especially the deadly ones all seem to have rust coloured spore prints and Cyanescens a purple/brown print. If you and others are quite comfortable in the ID that might be the final clincher to make you 100% sure of it. Maybe grab some prints once those pins mature. Also incidentally prints would probably be the best way of collecting spores for future purposes.
