I was in deep w BTC when it was 55K , then that hard dip after El Salvador caused me to pull before my profits were totally eroded. It hasn't crossed 48K since, which is disheartening, because I see no reason to put a single dollar back in at this time just to watch it go up and down 10%-20% every hour, lmao.

Nice, see altcoins are for trading, well most of them anyway there are a few that are good for long term.

This is what I don't get when people keep trading bitcoin, ethereum etc, like you really are barely compounding and are risking getting absolutely left in the dust if you're out and it really really fucking pumps.

If you're gonna trade, trade alt coins, and the more risky the alt coin the higher potential for gains but also the higher potential for a loss, so you get to choose your risk level, elon gate was high risk, I invested a small amount and got that big ass high reward, if I was very rich and could risk burning 10k I would have made a killing and then could have sent that to the more stable coins like btc eth etc.

That is how trading crypto is suppose to work and then you try to get out of btc eth etc when you feel that we are confirmed into a bear market.

Why?

I don't know about the next 30 days, maybe by December..but it sure looks good to me. I think in 30-60 days we see $70k+ for sure. Possibly sooner than that.

I think BTC has a short battle ahead in this 60-68K range.

Anyone who bought the dip in May is up 2x.
Anyone who FOMO'd in at 64K might be looking to break even and leave the market.
Anyone whos been in BTC before 2021 is still up considerably and might be looking to take profits in this range again.

Though I do think if BTC manages to break 66K, momentum might take us 70 sooner than expected

Def going to be watching alt's as things progress and looking for any potential rally

Specifically in the event that BTC sees a pullback

Need to go over the charts but I'm looking at xlm in what looks like an ascending wedge after coming off it's top at .8.

I'd think a breakout above that .43 area could see a decent move

You have any thoughts on that Geo ?

My biggest problem with XLM is the fact that it's still down better than 50% from its high.  That's a pretty big problem in a sector/asset class that is just smoking hot right now.  Now I don't really see much of an ascending wedge on XLM, however it's worth noting that ascending wedge patterns more often spill out the bottom, and are thus a generally bearish pattern, as they are formed when the top of a rising channel cannot maintain power to tag a parallel trendline to the bottom of the channel.  For my money, XLM looks directionless in a frustratingly broad range with a lot of overhead resistance.  Yeah, a move above $0.43 could catch some upside momentum, but it's triple topping at $0.43 at the moment and not showing any signs of making that move right now, and if it does, I'd suspect other assets with a better setup would be performing better.

In my view SOL still has one of the best technical setups... cooling down after its monster run earlier this year, tightening up and leaning higher.  I would be (and am heavily) involved right now.  It's still marking time, but in a very polite manner.  You don't usually see this type of pattern SOL is exhibiting break down.  Not to say it can't happen, but from someone who has traded for decades, the chart is remarkably clean and set up for continuation higher.  DOT, BTC, ETH, all flagging near their all time highs are also my preferred allocation here and now.

Let's also keep things in perspective here.  While there are undoubtedly some good trades to be had here and there, the monster play with crypto has simply been to stay involved.  Given the increased chatter from major money managers like Carl Icahn and major financial media like Bloomberg calling bitcoin a global reserve asset, you know, the writing has been on the wall for a while and "old finance" is rapidly coming around so as not to be left in the dust.  Obviously, you can't reasonably expect the same returns that those of us who have been involved 5+ years have enjoyed, but you can't really rule it out either.  I think everyone should have a permanent allocation to crypto, plain and simple.

I just wanted to say lurking on this thread is a big part of what finally convinced me crypto wasn't a scam. I put 90% of my "spare" cash into crypto not long after the spring 2020 crash and have been doing the DCA thing here and there since. After researching a lot and placing my bets, and have 5xed my initial investments overall. Getting into ETH and ADA last summer made up for the few dumb trades I made that lost me a little along the way.

So, thanks. I'm not rich, but definitely feel like I have much more of a financial safety net now because of crypto. I'm definitely looking at it as more of a long term investment than doing a bunch of trading, because I've learned I'm not the best at that. It also feels good to be a part of the disruption of the traditional finance system.

Hit another sell order on JASMY it's been a good producer. In a little deeper than I'd like to be on CELO but I'm slightly in the green with future sells a bit farther off than I'd like to be. Also really heavy on XTZ. Enough to where small change moves aren't  on the table. Next sell orders at $8.67 & $9.94. (Yikes)

Leaving a lot of cash laying out there.

https://beincrypto.com/crypto-market-cap-all-time-high-2-6-trillion/

And this is absolutely huge, welcome to leg 2 of the bull run. I say we have at least another solid 5-6 months of bull mode ahead.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-futures-etf-debuts-with-highest-ever-first-day-natural-volume-of-1b

And this is just the beginning of traditional asset managers going into the crypto world. Next is an Ether ETF and then many alt coins as well. We're witnessing a new asset class entering the global financial system, that's pretty cool even if you're not invested in crypto at this time.

Speaking of alts UMA shot up 20% which is a far cry from anything I need to sell since I bought in March BUT... leave those old sell orders in place if you can. I've had a "double my money" order set on NU for months that I had no hope of executing then out of the blue it shot over 400% overnight. It happens.

If it's not hurting your portfolio in the long run hold tight all it takes is one headline or tweet to turn things around. Currently I have 10 or so alts waiting for their day in the sun.

My current sell goal to get my portfolio working on gains only is 4 ETH @ $4490.

If that executes I'm shopping for a condo on Anna Maria Island.

The chart for Sol does look like the best chart I've seen on any crypto I do believe

Just apprehensive after such a big move.

If it breaks off much higher I might bite

Dot doesn't look bad at all either

Well there goes SOL blowing the roof off the mother with a market leading +12% daily gain.  I will be spinning some out incrementally into this rally, even as I do suspect it will hit new ATH's in relatively short order. First big target is up @ $190, although if we start to falter before then, I would be happy to sell a little bit here at $175.  I have also taken a little DOT off the table here at $45.

I do think we have some room to run here, to be sure, especially on a longer time horizon.  However, professional trading discipline dictates that you sell into demand, and buy into supply whenever possible.  We are seeing A LOT of demand right now.  Do with it as you will... my accounts have been fully invested in wait for this breakout, and it's time to rebalance incrementally.

Again, if you want to make reliable money long term, you need to develop discipline.  There are times when it is warranted to chase momentum and buy the breakout... but BTC has run in a pretty straight line from $40K to $60K, so even though this is a breakout to fresh all time highs, a lot of buying power has been used up to bring us to this level.  Hence, I would NOT be buying the BTC breakout here.  Some alts, perhaps, like SOL, but in general you want to get into the habit of leaning toward selling into demand and buying into supply.
