What am I looking at here? Is this an experiment of creating LC that can be G2G?

I’ve had two jars with a lot of yeast in them and it seemed to make no difference. Didn’t slow the myc down at all and went multiple flushes.
It was the same yeast both times (or looked the same) so it might’ve just been a benign type.

I was just attempting to make wet starchy grains, not make a solid mass of fats and starch lol. I'll see how this works out but I'll have to make another attempt at producing normal wet starchy grains.

I uhh think you're reinventing LC at this point?
The reason I do a slurry is for doing g2g but with liquid so that it's easy to just pour out of a jar/cup into my grain bag/jars. Skip the needle, and have easy and thorough distribution. Plus it's ready in an hour and takes up 0 space between uses. I started doing this because I didn't want to bother making LC, testing the LC, then using a syringe with the LC. With a slurry tek, I just PC my blender cup+blade with water in it, PC the pour spout wrapped in 2 layers of foil, then go in front of my flowhood, upwrap, take an agar plate or grain jar/bag or a fruit, toss some in the water, put on the blender, blend a bit, pour spout goes on, pour into the bags. If I know the parent jar is clean, and I use proper sterile technique, everything stays clean
With this slurry you're doing, won't you still need to clean a pour spout? Or are you going to try to spawn with this? Won't that make for a really wet substrate?

The slurry was just an afterthought/click bait title to get people to watch the video lol.
I just want to see how much I can fuck up a grain jar and still get clean growth. I doubt that blending a thick slurry before inoculation will be a viable method for spawn production, but at the same time who knows until someone tries.
I'm far more interested in testing the limits of grain spawn.

Gotchya! I've actually thought about doing that! Add a bit of water, shake it up, hit it with a blender or immersion blender, then pour into a slightly dried substrate and mix thoroughly. Obviously a bit more vectors for contam, but it'd probably colonize in like days!

What do you guys name mushrooms like this. This came from a PE culture. They look nothing like PE and have zero visible spores. Is it correct to still call them PE? Or something else.

You should let it mold or start to show visual signs of bacteria, then sterilize it ha and inoculate. I've thought about trying this.
But I think what your could indeed focus more on starches and even permeability maybe.
And to who said agar is just 2D, pretty sure it's not. That why mycelium starts growing from all direction when you transfer wedges... right?

Ive nocced up bags that have sucked in water and made a starch mess of the grains. they usually colonize fine but good luck spawning them

Man I made 50lbs of rolled oats twice before I realized what was going on, that I grabbed the wrong bags, and I used the first 50lb bag. It was absolute mush, and did colonize and a some bags fruited. But it was bad, and nearly impossible to break up all the way.

In honor of Phu's experiment, I'm making these human consumption buck wheat unhulled fuckers tonight.

I've had side projects trying to make slum teks of unhulled grains.
They can't take heat or much water, but there's a 'secret' to them, and that's a very quick soak, followed by an immediate drying. It's extremely hard to get exactly right and I've only managed 2-3 jars like that.
Relevance: the use of these also face the sludge starch problem

I'd call em cubes.
Id clone those, no visible spores makes for pretty fruits. Those look way prettier than they would that mature if they had spores all over the caps
Do they bruise normally?
