I’m fairly certain this is shrimp of the woods mycelium it was taken from a tissue sample of fluffy mycelium at the base of a fresh shrimp of the woods blob locally, only one other person has posted their attempt years back, here on the shroomery and the mycelium is very similar so I’m pretty excited to see what happens next when I go to spawn it, also I have both amarilla mellea and amarilla tabescense on agar and will be experimenting with combining the two on agar and on substrate to see if I can get it to produce aborts or actual fruit bodies

Very cool, if you want to be 100% sure you got Entoloma abortivum you could send a plate to http://alvalab.es for ITS sequencing. Costs about $20.

Do The samples I submit need to be live, or can I submit tissue that’s been intentionally dehydrated to prevent it from accidentally slipping out of there hands or anyone else ending up with my culture
Not that I don’t trust them they seem very professional but I would like to keep the ball in my court as long as possible considering what it took to get to this point

Dried mycelium will work, could even be pasteurized since DNA is stable up to 100 C.
