Ok, I just harvested about few eights and right now they are in a tuppaware on papertowels by a window with a fan blowing on them, I need advice on how to efficiently dry them without spending alot of money.

so bake it for 60 - 90 minutes at 500 degrees, then break it up and when ready to use put on a bottom of tuppaware and cover with a nappy (what the hell is that ?) and then put the shrooms and then seal air tight .. correct ?

there are a lot of products that are dessicants that don't require the baking... such as "damp rid"

Best if you got some chicken wire, bend into a table like thing. Stick damp rid in airtight container with chicken wire table over it, lay shrooms on top and seal. With damp rid you dont want to just lay papertowels over it and put mushies on that cause it could soak and make mushies taste nasty.

Yeah its ok to dry them that way but after 48 hrs you need to draw the rest of the moisture out by placing the Dessicant in a jar with your shrooms in something that keeps them from contacting the Dessicant...I just use a baggie and leave the top of the baggie open in the jar..your stems should break easily when they are dry If they dont snap then your shrooms still have moisture in them

Well I bought the wire mesh, but I couldnt find the dessicant so I bought espom salt, which Im going to bake and then use as dessicant. By the way, what the hell is "damp rid" ?

Same way...basically a desiccant sucks up all moisture out of the air, whether you use salt, brown rice, damp rid, silica gel or whatever they have the same basic principle. So you need both the desiccant and the shrooms in an airtight place. Then it sucks everything dry. The less air you have the better because air holds moisture so you dont want some huge tank if your doing a small amount of mushies. Be creative about it.

Well salt naturally is a dessicant but needs to be baked to get some moisture thats already in it out of it. Thats why you should put some rice in your salt shakers..they'll keep the moisture out of your salt..

It shouldnt matter, even if it sticks to the foil that parts on the bottom anyway and shouldnt affect it sucking up moisture.
