YMMV, but...My experience when I did an extraction from dried shredded B+, did one pass with hot water, anther pass with Everclear.
Added a pinch of powdered vitamin C, heard that helps preserve it. (I think that's in PF's "crystal extraction" thing.)
Was beautiful purple and potent first night. Looked like a magic potion.
Was brown next night.
Tried some more in a week. Was half strength half.
Was almost no effect in a month.
Maybe something else could make it different, not sure.
One thought is maybe using pure (un-denatured) ethanol might work. The water in Everclear might help help oxidise or something.

Where did you find those? That wet bubble still looks unlike what people see around here.
That first pic doesn't really make since tho, how would you get growth like that?
How would one go about culturing mycogone like that? The biopsy I took from a blob looks like a isolate. I wanted to try and get a metabolite off it and put it to agar but it seems to be losing moisture and nit producing metabolites on agar...

There are lots of variants and it affects differently depending on time and severity of infection. The verified research pictures I find always look different. That one is very striking isn't it? Beauty.

Do they express phenotypical variance depending what they parasitize?
"Biochemical substances such as EOs from plants (Table 1) have shown strong activity against Trichoderma aggressivum f. europaeum, particularly basil and mint oils [119]. However, as noted before, some of these substances exhibit low selectivity and may damage the crop."

So it says this about wey bubble.. "" M. perniciosa affects the morphogenesis of A. bisporus fruit bodies but not the vegetative mycelium
So you wouldn't be able to tell if it was in your plate by the reactions of mushroom myc. But according to the picture it would produce its own, orangeish?, mycelium...?
And this means ""A cross-section of deformed sporophores shows black circular areas just beneath the upper layer. So a disecction would reveal something non white?
"" The main source of inoculum is the casing material,
Similar to vert..
And for vert.. "" It is remarkable that symptoms of the disease have not been reported to occur in the colonized compost (Phase III) before applying the casing material on top. Therefore, first symptoms are reported to occur in the casing material, rarely prior to the harvest when the induction to fructification is promoted by means of environmental cues.
But why would this be. Not visible in compost, grains, plates.... but yet we see that first photo of it on a petri apperently...
Also "" The vegetative mycelium (net of hyphae colonizing the compost and the casing before fructification) has been proved resistant to L. fungicola
And thought this was interesting.
"" DBD symptoms related to cap spotting can be a result of secondary metabolites produced by the parasite during conidia germination
Man these mycoparasotes are soo wierd. I just want to isolate them myself so I can understand them betyer.
And it's not a phenotype variance your looking for a reaction based on the host.

FactSheet on Dry Bubble some more info for you.
My interpretation of this, because I can find 10 studies including this one showing it germinates in sterile water and in casings, and it grows in agar as shown, is that in commercial growing you assume your spawn is clean automatically. You are not even making your own spawn much of the time, or it is in a totally different facility from bought elite cultures not hobo style MS spore prints. So in commercial button production you would only see the contamination after the pinning starts since it waits for actual pinning to begin its contamination. Does that make any sense? This should be on the thread about the subject not here lol.

That does make more since and may clear up some of my misunderstandings in my own research.
I'll check that fact sheet and I'm going to add this to my thread, which also has a link to bods mycogone thread.
I still don't think the mycogone info in the stickied contam thread is appropriate. It does not differentiate mycogone/vert myc from cube myc. If anything the pucs you posted just now should be added.
And what's up with the coloring on the vert myc plate? Uv or?
I might inoculate a handful of grain today or tomorrow with the culture I got from the blob biopsy.
So noones tried cloning and growing one of these blobs but me? I find that hard to believe.

I read threads that claimed the same experience as you Nektar. It's probably the water, because that's the whole point of drying them. It's too bad cause tinctures would be so convenient.

M1BTWC 1-A
(M1B(melmac) x TWC)1-A is a clone culture from a plate pin IIRC. Started around the beginning of the year with swabs cross-streaked on agar. I did my Melmac x TWC, Melmac x RW, and RWxTWC all simultaneously with the neglect tek producing plate pins for clone cultures.
