I spy Moringa trees. <3

Looks like it fits well enough in there. One of the wonderful things about 8' height is not needing ladders or OSHA defying tricks to reach the top. Not nearly so much empty space above the plants to heat too. :smile:

It may be years away but a scissor lift is on my bucket list; balancing on uneven ladders is cringe but I do what I must. None of my tunnels have a center / top bar for a reason.

A greenhouse is always a good idea, the bad things are often in the execution of said idea.

A lot of those shabby small greenhouse kits will work for your tomato plant but will suffocate a pot plant easily.

If money is an issue I always say it's best to make an overhead cover preferably with some headspace for em, and to make it wider than the plants come for ideal coverage from side rain when it's windy, and to allow as much ventilation as possible by keeping the sides open.

If money is not an issue, it's best to go for a greenhouse that is more than 3 meters in height, so you keep ample headspace for the hot humid air to rise toward.

When you the buds are pumping at their max, the space taken in by weed plants shouldn't exceed 70%. That rule means that having some additional height means you can plant a little closer together.

Especially when sides are closed off, or when the insides of plants haven't been pruned a lot throughout their life, it become very important to improve ventilation by adding some fans. Avoid needing fans by allowing wind to pass under your cover and by trimming inside bush away.

I was working on some of my plants for a welcome change and noticed this guy.

"Bridgesii Ben x Dawson's Pasa", and it seems to be varigated. I think it needs stronger light to really draw out the difference in colors but it can be seen at the base on the left in the first photo and the top of he second on the right. Mostly yellow, but not a too much water or lack of light yellow. I got two "ADL Macrogonus OP" plants with milky colors in them; those seeds produced dozens of albinos but they all died.

+++edit+++

Found this little guy; same variety. Maybe in five years I'll get some "BBxCP Variegated x BBxCP Variegated" seeds. ADL Macrogonus also produced two variegated plants and dozens of albinos.

Same, most of my cactus just went dormant and I've been lazy since its been about 40F and inversion during the day but this weekend there was a supper sunny day and they tried waking back up, some of the peris even etiolated just a little bit.

That's cold. Looks like you're further into winter. Yeah, it's about time to start consolidating my collection.
Good thing we can still have fun with seeds during the winter. Teehee.

Gifted a friend a nice bridgesii cutting at least 4-5 years ago, it flowered for him recently.

First seedlings from this spring (sown April 14th) being spaced out / re-potted.

They should be bigger but I have issues with little white gnats eating the roots which slows things down. Hybrid is "LumberJack x Bridgesii SS02". I didn't graft any of these TMK and I didn't get around to grafting much of anything this year.

I may see if peroxide, sulfur, or something simple will kill the bugs off; maybe neem oil or pirethrins.

My top priority right now is winter prep. That means topping off the propane tanks, OpChecking the heating equipment, and figuring out where I'm going to put all the plants since my wood framed greenhouse didn't work out as planned. It got converted into a shade house which is still plenty useful for July - Sept.

I grow in greenhouses, these were in shade so they are a little etiolated. In ideal conditions they should be 1" tall and have some thickness after the first year. A little bronzing on the skin is a good indicator of light.

Unfortunately a nuked one of my fat 5" de-graft plants when I planted it outside. Sometimes they sunburn, sometimes not. Other plants in accustomed to deeper shade did fine but not this one. ;( I dug it up and moved it. The sunburned size will be insignificant in 2-6 years.

+++

I think the new monster took. The base of the graft was diseased on the Pereskiopsis, so I cut it and grafted it to a candle. This one did get some orange funk growing on it but I aired it out in time to keep it nice and pretty.

This is one of my favorite cactuses, it hurt me a little to cut it, but it's one I want to propagate more. I took a three foot cutting and cut it into four pieces, and now this!

"julio" a pach from Matucana area.

So one plant just basically turned into 10!

Imo, we all should love our cacti a little more.

Like the man Luther Burbank did.

Go ahead and do a google search on his name. Then, you can choose to believe it or not but he proof is all there..

He convinced cacti to grow spineless with his consciousness and the power of LOVE.

He even sells them, and wrote a book!

Many blessings to you all

Burbank is definitely without any doubt one of the most (if not the most) interesting ppl to have explored botany.

Even breeding weed would have never been what it is today without Burbank. Nothing in horticulture or botany would have been, I think.
