Seems like the findings are completely against pentagon interests because more money needs diverting from defence to environmental issues.
exactly. that's why this document, if you read their statements, is not urging us to cut back on fossil fuels, but to prepare militarily for the warfare ahead of us.

Pretty convoluted reasoning you're working on here mush. So the best way of increasing defence spending is to say the environment is a bigger threat than terrorism..and because the environment is a bigger threat than terrorism we should spend more not on the environment...but defence?

absolutely. we all know how seriously they take terrorism. by saying that the environment is an even bigger threat to national security than that, they can easily give the implications of grave, imminent danger they want to give.
it is not in the self-interest of the pentagon to suggest that we cut fossil fuel use. it is in their self-interest to suggest that we increase military spending. you yourself have admitted this. their message here is to boost military spending, not cut fossil fuel usage. big surprise.

Government agencies are notorious for coming up with all sorts of 'nightmare' scenarios in order to prod legislatures to increase funding. Is that concept so hard to grasp for you?

Do you honestly believe this shit? Seriously?
You really don't think they consider climate change a threat and they've just made it all up to somehow get more spending on defence?

I didn't say it was rational, I'm just stating that's how it works.

This sounds like more pentagon warm-mongering to me!
get it.. warm-mongering? eh... yea.
In 5 billion years, give or take, our sun is going to get about 200x bigger than it is now, meaning earth will be totally fucked. So, in a sense, global warming will destroy us, 100% for sure, at some point in the future.

you'd think he'd try to develop a way to make the earth colder, so this oil hes secretly pumping out (with the patented "RightWingPump", used to deseminate Clinton and spread his love juice on lewinsky's dress) would have to be used to warm us. Maybe he could have NASA launch a space ship, then get it caught between two big mountains so that the trusters can slow down the revolution of the earth, thus making one side much colder! Just like in Darkwing Duck!
