I'm pretty sure bigger isn't better but unwrapping petri sleeves in my current sab was tight.
Got a few inches in height with this 200q surprisingly most of the extra volume was in the height category. Jumped on it cause I never see these clear ones at the home improvement stores.
Now I need a bigger table lol.
Anyone have luck finding cans with a 7 inch diameter?

My girlfriend hates the way substrate smells when it’s being cooked so I had to move some stuff outside especially the H poo ! Picked up the burner at the local Asian supermarket. Funny name . Not made in China . Japanese culture is fun .

Rinnai and National (a.k.a. Panasonic) are 'Japan's home appliance'. That looks more like Stalin's home appliance. Looks like a nice piece o' kit tho.

nah you can tell from the casting of the burner on that Urinal that it is high quality kit. It looks 100x better than the crap at walmart.

Call me crazy, but not knowing any better and back in the day bass-awkward's anyway, I've always used 60-70 quarter clear tubs with clear lids, and cut my hand holes in the lid, then taped clear plastic on the face of the lid covering the hand holes.. (Makeshift Vapor barrier) Then taping the top (one side of the lid) of the SAB to the hand hole lid and laying the box on its side, gives you a hinged opening without exposing the top to tams. Latches are preferred as well.. This gives you a deeper work area (elbo room.) Height is limited only slightly, but not restrictive. Never needed to change the design. Tub's not damaged and they still can stack with weight.

Good luck.

Just getting into Agar and cultivation, made myself an inoculation box. How'd I do? (sorry for the glare)

the wood agains the flow hood is not causing problems with the airflow, or is that just a box fan?

Good question, I was originally going to do 6 fans but had this same concern. I ended up doing 2x120mm 12v fans behind each filter to avoid this and increase direct airflow.

My best piece of gear is probably these Anti microbial stainless steel work benches. Can probably find them in restaurant supply stores. Highly recommended if you're looking for a work bench.

The box looks cool and well made but have you used it yet? What kinda filter do you have in there? If it works for you that's cool but I'm fairly sure you're not achieving laminar flow like that.

Yes, I have used it twice for agar and once for inoculation.
The filters are https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAXYA4M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1.
Might be a little below standard, but so far it's been working well. Seemed easier to work in then a SAB.
