Awesome finds! Pans have got this soft-spoken simple beauty to them..
In highschool my friends and I used to have access to a large cow pasture and there were more than a few times we came across these while looking for cubes and didn't know any better.. I still kick myself to this day for that lol
You got me wanting to see if that old cut-through to the pasture is still useable..

Got a guard snake at one of the patches... almost stepped on this joker 2 times!! They blend in as well as the caerulescens. Safe hunting everyone

Sorry for the crappy pic. I didn’t want to get any closer again. Haha

I felt this in my soul. Seems like all I have time for anymore is work and sleep.
Good to see you pop in Doc! Hope you get time to do a little hunting during this approaching season, seems like it might be a banger season with the cool we weather.

Went out this morning just for a moment to get some eggs from the chickens. Came back with more than a dozen. And I'm not talking about eggs. Didn't even check the rest of the land. Will go back out later for that.

Found about a dozen more some smaller and not as pristine as this morning. All and all pretty nice haul for one day compared to the others. And one of these caps is probably over 1.5 inch diameter. Be The biggest so far. No pics gotta free up some space soon.

Hit a couple new spots yesterday, these were from a construction site surrounded by loblolly/sweet gum/grassy swaths where I was looking for weilii. Walked the entire thing virtually on my hands and knees. No weilii but as I'm pulling out my truck starts spinning mud, I lean out the window to see what's up and my good ole Gym friends are sitting less than 2 feet away in a small patch of mulch by the road just smilin at me lol. There were loads of pins so I'm stopping back by after work to see if they're ready yet.
Threw some older specimens in my cedar buckets to see if I can't get a backyard patch going 🤞

Beautiful cluster. They always find you! Maybe give that spot a little longer for caerulescens to pop if it’s newer construction.

Gyms are puttin on a show right now..
New fruits from yesterday's patch, there's still at least double this in pins there.. It's a patch that probably won't be able to exist once the neighborhood is complete due to road placement, so it seems they're living it up while they can

think i fount my first patch boys!!! yall done learned me right. man when that intuition finally kicks in and u go back to that one spot that should have had them but didnt and theyre there, it feels good. found in the pauldng area. doc g wasnt lying when he said to check those suspect areas consistently. im wondering if a producing site thats since went dormant, undergoes construction and only needs half a year to start producing instead of the full 2. because where ive found these, construction has only been going on for a few months. i know were not suppose to rinse but these guys were muddy.

on another note the tampanensis? patch is pushing up a coupla lil guys here and there
and on another nother note my girl is gettin mad at me for being on the cpu all the time so i didnt have time to get an id on this (which i should have done anyways) but found this solo guy in marietta in some grass compost sludge. jet black spore print makes it an active pan right?
