Chicken of the Woods?
    #27470419 - 09/16/21 09:59 AM (2 years, 6 months ago)

Any idea if these are chicken of the woods?  They're growing off of a Black Cherry tree.  There was once a birds nest inside of this tree and that's where they are growing out of.  Exceptionally easy to bruise -  The bruising turns into a dark orange.  The touch is very spongy

This is in the Midwest

Found another today at the base of a White Oak tree.  Just to clarify identification before I cut it up and have a taste.
