What's the deal with APEU? Are there different lineages? Mine were definitely not true albinos but they came from a trusted source.

Indeed, there's dozens of red Russulas, I believe taste/odor is a big part of IDing these down to species.

Ganoderma sp. found today, lot of fungi out.

They've been the weirdest most frustrating cube for me so far. My previous best from 3 monos was 2 apricot sized fruit (total) and hundreds of pennies I didn't bother harvesting. This was quite a surprise.
I was only keeping the sub around while I waited for jars to colonize (it was spawned 08/06). The mid section underneath was uncolonized when I flipped, I mostly expected it to trich out. Instead it the fruit exploded over that section.
I don't feel like I've won until I get a full canopy. So the game isn't over yet
If I could get a proper KSSS print again I think it'd be fun to work with them over generations to get bigger versions of these mofos:

Those were just cased with verm.

I’ve never run ksss yet mostly because it seems to have turned into a typical cube, but I have this ufo revert culture I work with occasionally trying to get something going that’s similar to the older big gnarly ksss fruits.

They look cool
I was expecting something like that. This var basically has no stalk, just a bulb. It grows like little pebbles even on agar.

It clusters super dense and the fruit chaotically stack on top of each other lifting some off the sub. The caps curl very aggressively, often splitting. The side pins smashed their caps trying to curl 🤯

Yeah that's how they do - but if saw those super chonkers PE a while back, there's hope in genetics and selection.
