Pressure cooker steaming from pop up valve only

So I'm not sure if I fucked something up in cleaning it.
I ran it a few times and steam came out of the valve that the weight goes on. Rattles hard and fast as its supposed to. I cleaned it by taking apart the pieces, washing soap and water, rinsing and hand drying and setting overnight.
Now it still steams mightily from the valve, but when putting weight on it, its not rattling. All the steam is coming out of the pop up valve and I'm not sure what/where I went wrong cleaning it.
Any suggestions?

The only way I can see the pop valve leaking pressure is either its got something stuck in it preventing it from being pushed up and sealing, or in the process of cleaning it you removed material unevenly from the sealing surface causing a gap to allow pressure release.
Take her apart and make sure that their is a consistent sealing surface. It doesn't take much for a metal to metal seal to leak. Chances are its too small to see by eye so have a ruler or other flat surface to check it on, preferably gauge blocks.
Did it have this fault before cleaning?

I've had some pop up valves that would only pop up if you pushed down on them to build a little pressure for a few seconds and then let go.
or are you saying that the pop up valve is leaking while its up and at pressure? If so maybe the gasket is marred or bent or something silly. You did put the little white gasket back right?

i think its leaking pressure. it's up and blowing off more steam than i remember. but the valve with the weight on it isnt moving. but the temp can't go much higher than what its at.
This hadn't happened before I cleaned it. I used it less than half a dozen times before deciding I should keep up on making sure it stays clean. I'll take it apart when the cycle is done and hope the two hour run was long enough and I didn't ruin the batch

First of all always run your stove at high heat until it is up to pressure. It is pointless to heat it up on 8/10, just wasting time. Unless it's a huge ass gas burner that laps the sides.
Just take it back apart and check the gasket, i'm sure it's a little loose or bent or something. Someone on here had the exact same problem just the other day.

Try flipping the seal ring on the inside of the lid. Maybe it's not seating properly. If it's not creating a proper seal, it'll leak steam from the edge of the lid and/or around the pressure lock that locks the lid in place when the pressure gets high enough. I had it happen after washing my PC once. I couldn't see anything put together wrong. Was told to flip the gasket, gave it a try and....it worked. So. That's my advice to you.

Opened and wiped down everything. Took the pop up valve apart and cleaned it good with soap and water, making sure it was tightly put back together.
Everything is working back as it should. I gave myself a hell of a scare. Thank you all for your advice!

Usually it’s that the valve came a little unscrewed.. it’s two pieces screwed together
