Fluffy cubensis mycelium on agar?
    #27460670 - 09/08/21 04:13 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Hello everybody. I’ve noticed that my latest batch of mycelium on agar is very whispy and fluffy. It looks like cubensis mycelium, just more “vertical” I guess you could say. I haven’t observed any contamination on these dishes. Is this a sign that the mycelium may have bacterial infection, or is it good?

Thanks. It’s a second transfer of p cubensis var NSS.

It's probably got some kind of contamination mixed in there, a mycoparasite aka interwoven mold that grows with your culture attached to the hyphae. Could be trich or something just waiting. Waiiiiting waiting

Or maybe just an absurdly aggressive strain? Try and fruit it? I'm 95% sure it's not good.
