So I'm cutting a lot of palm trees down. Small ones, along with other yard trimmings.  I'm planning to compost it all. I've got a few bags of manure to get it kick started.  Additionally I have old, poorly treated, liquid cultures of lions mane, Phoenix oyster and something else I can't remember right now as well as a wild cubensis print. I was thinking to inoculate the pile with all of that and see what happens.

Is this the dumbest thing you've ever heard?

Why or why not?

I imagine the composting process will overheat the mycelium and the normal composting bacteria/organisms will win out, so most likely your lc's will just die and do nothing.  But it's not gonna hurt anything

I may be wrong, but dont palm trees contain some oils or something that make it hard for mushrooms to eat?

There is a ganoderma species that grows exclusively on palm.

I found one in florida a few years back and it kinda blew me away haha
