Found a very intersting shroom growing in my back lawn near woodchips it is quite large big cap with pinkish cinnamon colored gills. The shrooms for the most part is all white with a big cap and big stem failry thick which is also all white. I live in Montana and I know for the most part that it's not active but I was wondering if anyone could help me to id this because it is so interesting because it looks so much like all the other big white shrooms around my yard except they all have very dark blackish gills. Also I do not know how to do a spore print and I was wondering if somebody could explain?
To do a spore print you cut the the cap off the stem, place it gill side down on a piece of white paper and cover it with a cup or bowl to stop the spores being blown away. You should have a pretty solid print after 24 hours. In reply to your find, im in Australia and have been finding them aswell. Unsure of what it is though.
