Very thick shrooms: they refuse to air dry!

So, I never thought I'd have this problem. In the past I've only grown Golden Teachers, and after about 24 hours of drying them with a fan they'd be pretty shriveled up, and after 48 hours I'd put them in a plastic box with a strong dissectant and they'd be cracker dry the next day.
I'm currently growing B+ and these guys are THICK. Thick, noticeably heavy and seem to be less hollow than the Golden Teachers.
I've harvested a bunch and I've had a fan pointed at them for 48 hours now, with the shrooms lying on ultra absorbant paper towels, like I always do. But after 48 hours they have barely dried, I haven't weighed them but they look almost the same as when I harvested them!
I'm afraid they're going to rot or something.. should I just throw them in with the Dissectant? I use semi-sealed bags of 75g Calciumchloride to make them cracker dry and I have enough dissectant to absorb all the moisture. I did read a post saying you shouldn't do this because it will dry them "the wrong way" but I have no idea what this means.
Or what if I cut them open? Would that air dry them faster without harming them?
Please don't tell me to get a dehydrator, that's out of my budget at this moment. They start at like $75 where I live.

I'll cut them, thanks guys
I've never heard about paper towels causing lost potency..? Absorbing water from the shrooms is wat we want, no? I feel like they'd take even longer to dry on tin foil.

I'm not sure if this makes sense.. You're saying there's Psilocybin in the water that is transferred to the paper towel. But, the paper towels don't turn blue even though Psylocybin turns blue when exposed to oxygen. Also, most moisture is lost to evaporation and not the paper towel. The towel is mostly there to provide a dry, breathable surface for faster drying.
I'm inclined to believe that any potency lost would be less than 5%, possible less than 1%. I put over 100gr fresh shrooms on a single paper towel, unless my paper towels turn blue like the shrooms themselves I'm not worried tbh. There's not even a stain on them, white as always. I've always dried my shrooms on paper towels and 3 grams gives me a very strong trip every time.
With tin foil I'd be worried about mold and very slow drying, especially with these thick mushrooms.
Btw, update.. After cutting the shrooms they dried a bit more overnight and I put them in a small box with dissectant, they're now cracker dry. Still quite meaty, I'm honestly impressed. Never had such large yields before.
