A bioreactor is most commonly used in the food industrie like for making alcohol free beer (so it has no purpose yet).
So why making fun of me, I'm trying to be serious.

If you think about it, it would probibly cost a ton of money to even try and build one of these nerver mind buying one.

I have not heard of the modern day mushroom industry using such a device for growing mushrooms, which means that it is not possible, or it is not economical.

So it won't work because nobody has tried it?

So this would also be possible with boxes. This is where I grow my shrooms in. One should purchase a syringe of 50 ml.
This sterile needle is than used to inject the supercharged (sterilized) water wich allows the mycelium below the peat/lime/vermiculite mixture to obtain nutrients.
I will try this method and I will post results, I will try to have more than 16 flights!!!

You will run into major problems concerning contamination.

But when sterilizing the substrate your going to inject and using sterile syringes?
I can't imagine when done under a flowhood and gloves on that this could give contamination.

Can't someone explain why this contaminates so easy. Because when doing everything sterile this must be possible!!

Yess, Anno, I will try and post results. The only thing I need to know is the ingredients of the substrate I'm gonna inject.
I know there has to be a carbohydrate source, nitrogen would be nice too if organic, that's what I've read. Would I be able to use the mixture I use for my cannabis plants, this has a NPK source, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. Added with sugar, maltextract (source when growing on agar) this would be a mixture sure to achieve results. But I suppose I have to make a larger carbohydrate source than nitrogen. If someone can give any comment on this it would be very helpfull. The only problem I can imagine is the damage caused by sterilising the whole! This might cause several nutients to be damaged. But as I have worked in a microbiological laboratorie and as we have one school (we also have a lab. there) I might be able to achieve substrate normally used to grow micro-organisms in common. This way, leaving the agar agar out I might be able to make a mixture, wich is rich enough (with nutrients) for the shrooms to grow on and have more flushes. This mixture is normally sterilized so this is no problem.
I only have to find out how much to inject in the mycelium. I think I also have to achieve a viscosity that causes the liquid to adhese on the rye colonised by the mycelium.
I will try.................and I'm confident this must work!
As I have a few boxes of cubes standing at the time I'm typing this, and because they are almost done this can be done soon enough. Please place some post when having any comment it might make this shit work!!

Yeah I already read it, that's what I ment when talking about the organic Nitrogen!
But I'm not that into linking to other forums.
Thanks, but I'm searching for more comment on the contamination problem.
I've just thought out the fact it might be better to inject the substrate sidewise, because than the peat/lime/verm. mixture isn't touched by the needle.
