Song(s) that are too sentimental, nostalgic, etc for you to be able to listen to them around others

I weaponized this in a confronting talk with my brother to remind him of our absentee father and how he should strive to be really there for his kids in the few years that set them up for life.

It got through to him.

With covid he aggressively locked down with his family and homeschooled his kids.
Very proud of him.

This is a whole npr tiny desk concert but the 1st song and last song really drum up a lot of emotion.
The performer is a true testament to human spirit in the face of incredible adversity
and I tear up everytime I hear it. Her voice is off putting at first but I think it's hauntingly beautiful.

All classical music.
I don’t know why it just makes people uncomfortable.

:oldthread:

I think the premise of this thread was that if you listen to the music. It would trigger an emotion that would render you not wanting to be around others, Ie a melancholy/nostalgic mood. Not necessarily listening to it out loud and annoying people.

Necro post is good.:awesomenod:
As a white man. 2 of those songs do make me feel uncomfortable being played in public.

The other two I would say, definitely fit the criteria.

Here’s another example.

Everyone always just quotes Buffalo Bill!

Nearly all the music I like to be honest. I'm a private music listener and get anxiety playing or, fuck, even talking in public about music with others. I nearly had a panic attack a few weeks ago when the former owner ov the shop I work at asked me to play music I like for him on the youtubes, face red and sweating, everything! I eventually caved since he persisted and played probably the most anti-social music ever, that ov Diamanda Galas, since I'm a full blooded Aquarius and tend to go contrarian when people ask me to relate something they can relate to. It went over as expected and I still regret not playing one ov the few things I like which the majority may actually like as well, perhaps King Crimson or something. Not that I'm ashamed ov my musical preference ov course, music is just mostly private to me.
