Hawaiian Baby Woodrose
    #2744395 - 05/29/04 03:20 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

Ok, I've came to the conclusion of trying some Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds instead of Morning Glorys'. I was wondering does it really matter (potency-wise) what kind I get? ... say; Ghana? Pacific? or Hawaiian? Thanks for your experience and help. Peace.

The cheaper ones are less potent, and less viable. The hawaii ones are potent, but in my mind they are rarer, more viable, and probably prolific plants. Its prolly just me, but I have an ethical dilema eatting them, over say the ghana ones.

Thanks, just wanted to know if I could save a little money. Why the ethical dilema with Hawaiian seeds? just curious

I dunno, I'm strange like that. I probably couldnt bring myself to eat a peyote either. And i'd eat some dried peruvian torch flesh over a live cactus cutting too.

hawiians ar the best. Ive bought tons form iamshaman.com, you can sell them locally for $1-2 a seed and make your money back quick. And best of all its legal.

They are illegal to eat and to sell as a drug. They do have good street value though (although I don't condone profiting off entheogens by selling on the street) I have my suspicions that the seeds with origins differing from hawaii may not even be true Argyreia species.

Never had any experience with HBWR but my friend had and he only had 3 of the hawaiian kind and he said his trip was stronger then any mushroom/lsd trip he had.

You mean the pacifics may not even be active? That's a bummer... I'll try 8 still to see, and if not, I'll just plant them or something :/

Well, I have worked with "HBWR" from at least 5 different sources and am constantly getting offered seeds at very cheap prices from different locales. At one point in time, the late Peruvian Journey was selling Tahitian seeds that were outstanding! Highly active and fresh. This was the only case I have had where the seeds origin was not from Hawaii and they had activity.

It strikes me as odd that this vendor (we know which one ) would sell inactive seeds. I've always respected how they make sure their products are high quality, and how they don't sell misleading items.

If your talking about iamshaman.com they even say in the hawiian description "Don't be fooled by inferior seeds sold for less" And i think there trying to tell you the potency when they say the cheaper strains are only 30-70% germ rate.

Ive sold teh HBw's to friends for $1 a seed so i made .70 cents a seed, they all say its worth twice that. You really cant sell too much HBW's on the street though. Kids might get stupid with them and dose too often and get triped out, or even worse od on them. Im sure having cyanide on a regular basis is no good for you.

About the cyanide, If i did basic acid/base extraction would it leave the cyanide behind? Is cyanide an alkaloid? I was thinking about buying 200 seeds and making some LSA tabs because i noticed the trip was much, much cleaner without the shells. I can imagine with absolutly no cyanide it would be amazing as long as the LSA dosent contribute to the stomach ache.

Yeah, I just mean it's odd they would even sell inferior seeds with no shamanic value. If that's the case, they should only sell the hawaiian ones. I've still yet to have time to try my pacific seeds though, so I'm not saying for sure if they are infact inactive.

I think its okay for them to sell the seeds just for the novelty of doing so. nothing they sell is to be consumed anyways, and its illegal to consume HBWR , so no big deal. They are still viable seeds (although not AS viable)... I wonder though, what species it truely is. I have had people try to convince me that they are in fact Argyreia nervosa but just because they were grown in a different locale their potency is inferior. I find this hard to believe as it has more to do with genetics than environmental factors. For awhile , I was convinced they were Argyreia speciosa , but a reputable botanist explained to me that they were not and its contriversial whether or not there really is even an Argyreia speciosa. .I have seen two or three different looking seeds being moved out of ghana being sold for extremely cheap in bulk, then resold for regular HBWR prices per kilogram. This is extremely unscupoulus and I have even fell victom to it. Luckily the market is started to take heed to these matters and I believe is stabalizing.

Now, only if I could get my damn woodrose to set seed. Then we wouldn't have any problems. My recommendation is grow many plants yourself and take good care of them over the years for one day we may only have access to the inferior fake woodrose.

Yeah I guess. But what's the novelty in purchasing fake etheogenic seeds? I mean even if I grew them, I would end up with an inactive plant. Under this logic, they might as well start selling grass seed for the novelty based on marijuana being referred to as grass. Heh.

Anyways, thanks for the information and happy birthday Alkaloidaholic

I see your point. I suppose I just like plants and anything related, thought to be related, or possibly active is worth growing (not saying non-entheogenic plants aren't worth growing) maybe some day they will discover something about these seeds, their true species and origin, maybe they dont contain LSA but have some other interesting properties to them.. but I do see your point and it is very valid.
