I think we do now know they are not cubes. I believe we got enough back to know that, past that I'm not sure.

I just come down from a tea made from these. I used 1.6 gram only. I can't really put it in words yet and probably never will be, but...
Usually I see pretty fractals on these mushrooms. I am the kind of person that lies in bed in the dark listening to music. This time it was so very different... No fractals, no patterns. I suddenly was in a dark place where some kind of colorful fabric threads hang from the ceiling. If there was a ceiling at all. In front of me in between the threads I saw an eye watching me. Through some kind of monocle. Just looking at me in a very curious way. I didn't feel particularly good, but I wasn't spooked either. It was kind of like a meeting without any particular reason. One of the weirdest moments of my life so far for sure.
I am still busy processing what I experienced. So my apologies if I don't make much sense right now.

Yeah they were confirmed to be just different enough to be a separate species.
Nobodies analyzed the alkaloids that I’m aware of, I’ve been waiting for that to happen at some point. I think there’s for sure something different going on but it seems like most places only check psilo content.
Like pans and tamps also have unique trips but I can’t recall really seeing anything about why. Other than serotonin in pans I think.
Cubes I get a lot of geometric patterns and swirling wood grain type stuff, none of that from my natalensis though. At least not open eye.

Iirc what makes cyans different is a high amount of baeocystin. I really wish this stuff was legal in more places so it'd be easier to figure out the qualitative differences.

These things gave me the weirdest moment in my life too. I was listening to a song with my eyes closed and was watching a house being built in a neighborhood and as the house was being finished the singer in the song started to hold her notes really long and in a high pitch. And as she held one the house turned into a head and the rest of her body pushed out of the ground, jumped onto a chain link fence and started to piss really colorful drops all over as she was basically swinging her hips forward and backward, spraying me with rainbow piss. It was so ridiculous that I started rolling on the floor laughing for a solid two minutes

I'm working on these, shook some grain, but probably need another transfer on agar before I expand again. I haven't bioassayed them but I'll probably give em a go next over any other species. Tamps seemed pretty high in serotonin if I were to analyze it like that, but maybe it was the difference from tea ingestion.
I don't like my set or setting yet well enough to trip. Maybe I'll microdose and learn spanish on an app until I change my situation.
Back on topic, I think my grain has kinda 2 growth patterns going on. Idk if I trust it.

Harvested all four shoeboxes. It appears the one that was cased a few days after spawning produced the largest fruits (still spaghetti), but I can't be sure if that had anything to do with it, my setup is too primitive lol
Took some inner tissue from the largest fruit that was also in a 3-cluster and put it on several agar plates. Hopefully one recovers and I get a decent clone
BTW I'm surprised how fast the second flush came: Shoebox on the left had been harvested 4 days before this pic was taken.

Also I am making a small giveaway so check it out if you want to grow this species

Now those look super cubey.
I’m curious how potent they are.
Did you mix spawn and coir in the bags and then cut them open to fruit?

I’ll find out this weekend on the potency. I spawned in the bag to composted manure, coco, verm, gypsum. This bag actually stalled out because the sub was too packed but started fruiting inside the bag and then I cut it open but my co2 levels bottomed out at only 800ppm. I need to modify my intake location to try to get it below 600ppm and see how they develop next time.
That will be happening today as I have another actual fully colonized spawned bulk bag ready to go.

I read through the first entire 70 pages waiting for Alan to chime in with an analysis (and because following along with everyone's early experiments was fascinating, haha) and eventually skipped ahead and see a few people have arrived at this consensus.
But, I'm still super curious, do most people now think they are working with the NSS variety or the natalensis species? Someone had ordered both the NSS and the natalensis print from the source a while back, did anything ever come out of that?
If someone were to offer to send a print my way I'd be forever grateful! I don't have much to trade in the way of prints as all I've grown is GT and APE at this point, but perhaps a $25 gift cert to shroomsupply from the raffle would be of interest? Thanks!
edit: just saw jomanda1990's giveaway so reached out to him for that. thanks all

Alan did eventually check them out and confirm they’re different.
Lol you don’t have to bribe people here man somebody will hook you up don’t worry. If I had printed my last tub I’d shoot you one myself.

Ha! Thanks man, I wasn't trying to bribe I just thought someone might get better use out of the cert than I can and I wanted to be able to return the favor. I reached out to jomanda so hopefully I'll be able to hop on this train soon!

It seems that the Natal family decided not to give up on the evil of the hot weather and again pleased with strong fruits!

Those are super nice.
Is that just coir from old subs on the ground or other stuff too? And do you water it?
Those pictures look like perfect shroom habitat.
