Canadian Federal Election

It's shaping up to be a dandy.
Liberals are slowly losing support, while the Conservatives actually have a shot at obtaining power.
I think a minority government this time around would be a breath of fresh air.
Latest polls: Liberals 38%, Conservatives at 30.4% and NDP 18.1%.
Thoughts? Opinions?

Fortunately Paul Martin and the Liberal party will win. The last thing Canada needs is a religious fanatic like Stephen Harper.

As a Canadian, I find the American election will have more impact on me.

Or the rest of the yahoos that make up the Canadian Alliance
I had thought about voting NDP this time around...but I'll probably just vote Green again. If not them...I'm putting my check in the "none of the above" circle

Canada's Liberal government is out of control. They are wasting/stealing taxpayer money. We need a NEW government.
Agreed. Plus, Martin's an ass

Take a look around. Should give you the general idea of what the Conservative party is all about.

Conservative leader says stolen millions could have gone to health care SASKATOON, SK ? Conservative leader Stephen Harper today argued that the Liberal sponsorship scandal has hurt small communities like Saskatoon, arguing that the $100-million channelled to friends and cronies of the Liberal Party could have been ... Stephen harper seems to be against requiring the "regestration of the property of gun owners" and for requiring "the registration of sex offenders".

After awhile people get bored in office. Chretien did, and the AdScam scandal resulted in it. Paul Martin is a fresh liberal start for Canada, which is why he has an 8% lead over Harper and the Conservatives.. even in the conservative primaries, a better choice could have been made... Belinda Stronach or Tony Clement.. a young ideal (and not completely insane) business woman and a political science geek (who is more passive than Harper). I'm actually surprised Jack Layton is lagging in the polls when his only competition are Right-wing GOP-brown nosers and a Liberal government that got very very bored the last run around the cap, with a qtr of a billion down the drain as a result. The fact none of these losers can gain an edge over Martin (who is decried nationally as a thief) says something.

After talking briefly with a few relatives and neighbours...it looks as if a lot more people are unsure of which candidate to vote for this time around.
I'm not sure how many people know about this...but if enough people vote "none of the above" in a federal election, I'm pretty certain that they have to REDO the election with ALL NEW candidates. Spread the word as much as you can!

All I can say is NDP is the best choice, in my opinion.
It's true that Liberals are out of control, and seem to be focusing on the wrong issues (imo). However, I feel the Conservatives wouldn't do much better than the Liberals, plus I think Harper is a nazi. Fair argument.
I like how NDP's support clean environmental practices, social services, legalization of marijuana (possessing and growing), along with many other things that, imo, makes up the most sane campaigns of all three main parties.
I also like the Green party, but to be honest and I know it's a poor reason, but they just aren't popular enough to be worth voting for. NDP's encompass many of their views and actually stand a chance (albeit a small chance) of winning the election.

Oh, and of all three main political leaders, Jack Layton strikes me as the most honest, down-to-earth, and logical of them all. I don't know if it's empathy, or a good media strategy, but he seems to send out positive 'vibes'.

Jack Layton.
