First Grow, Fully Colonized Jars Need Help
    #2744115 - 05/29/04 01:19 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

ok after a few weeks my jars are finally fully colonized. I have read a bit on the dunk and roll procedure and my question is can i just fill the jar that the cake is in now with water for the dunk or should I use a different container?

Dunk em, dunk em, dunk em. Makes a difference. Dunk em before you birth em and it will replace the moisture the myc used to grow when is colonized the cake. In fact do a dunk and a shock at the same time. (dunk after each flush too)

Notice the cakes are floating.    Dunk, Dunk, Dunk.

You can. But they better be really colonized. Don't want a good casing falling all to pieces on ya, and if you do use one of the many peroxide mixes.

Naw, you don't have to handle em. In fact the whole process can be done if careful without ever handling the cake.

I've noticed, and this may just be me, that cakes can bang around pretty good in a jar and not bruise. But just bairly handle one and blue spots, so it may have something to do with oils in the skin or something like that. I'll test it sometime.
