If you get a good fruiting strain, it fruits easily on paper or wood. The pics below are all G tsugae. RR
Aloha offers Tsugae. Mine, I concur with contributors, is most likely Tsugae considering it grew from pine roots and was found the right region for G.t.
I'm not entirely certain the differences amongst reishi. I doubt any are particularly inferior to the next, just slightly different.
I'd like to note that I took my tissue sample from the stipe core. It was tough.
Wow, thanks for this find. Not giving up then.
I've got probably 50 trees I can go get some new clones from if this strain just won't pop.

Looks like a parasite to me too. I recall seeing something like it once pop up on an old sub.

First unmodded tub on the new shelves

Nothing great but I'm happy it looks so even and consistent. Still trying to dial my room in, and I think bringing in more FAE is helping.

Two more Mak tubs, the other two I already harvested came in around 1700g which is not bad but I was definitely looking to hit 2000 and for some fatter triple digit fruits. They were only 1:2.5 spawn to sub ratio which was definitely a bit low and I think bumping it up to 1:4 would help.
They were 19 days spawn to harvest which was really nice but I think that played a part in the average fruit weight. Super excited to test out the clones I’ve taken though and gonna go back to spore one more time to try and see if I can find anything that’ll throw out true monsters. Lovin the Mak so far though and the tub pictured on the right might break 2000g wet.

You know you have to let spore swabs dry for 24 hours right? All the moisture in those packs will ruin them.
Pic tax, replaced a gauge on an old x25 after beating it up rawr
