Hello everyone, just joined the forum wishing to learn more about these wondaful fungi!
A brief history of me, and how I stumbled upon psilocybin.
In short, I have been diagnosed with ADHD, borderline Bipolar, general anxiety disorder and depression. I've been to hospital a few times with panic attacks too. None of that is much fun at all. I have tried various meds, which did help, but side effects were too much to deal with and also the meds didn't always work.
I'd been off the meds for a while, but was starting to notice things where getting bad again. This led me to start searching for alternative options for treating my mind.
That's when I discovered the wonderful world of microdosing psilocybin, never heard of it before, never knew it was a thing. Obviously heard of magic mushrooms, used to dabble with them years ago, but a bad trip put a stop to that pretty quickly!
I got in touch with an old friend who loves tripping on DMT and going to ayahuasca retreats in Peru, I knew he would be the man to know. Basically he managed to obtain some psilocybin caps, 200mg per cap, a mix of B+ and Amazonian.
I necked one of these caps not expecting much to happen. How wrong could I have been! Within about 20 mins of taking the cap, things started to be more clear, I had a feeling of self love, I felt calm, I felt more connected to nature, music sounded amazing, and everything just seemed visually more vivid. I had no feelings of anxiety, I felt happy! All from one 200mg dose.
The next day I took another, same feelings, although perhaps not so intense. But still so much better than I was a few days ago!
That first cap flipped a switch in my mind, since starting microdosing I have felt more like I remember feeling in my early teens, I'm now 43!
I'm based in the UK, so trying to find any reliable source for caps has been unfruitful so far, unfortunately the original source for the caps my mate obtained has gone AWOL, so I have started cultivating my own mushrooms!
There is something satisfying and rewarding from growing your own meds!
It seems to be fairly straightforward when it comes to growing them, I have used a few UK based suppliers for grow kits and also spores. Some of my pots are colonising well, others are seemingly doing nothing at all! But luckily I live in an area where Liberty Caps grow quite well, and it's nearly time to start going picking!
I just wish I had known about microdosing years ago, the amount mental pain and suffering that could have been avoided is immense.
More people need to know about this, its literally changed my life overnight. Who'd of thought a mushroom had so much power!
And if you got this far, thanks for reading!

I’m so glad for you and how shrooms have helped you.
Is 200mg still in the range of microdosing? Did you not feel any effects of psilocybin and were you able to function normally? I’ve always heard that microdosing is supposed to be sub-perceptual, that’s why I ask.
All that said, do continue what appears to be so helpful to your health.

I can definitely relate. I have had ADD since 1972 or 1973, although I never it called that until the first decade of the 21st century. I have had depression since 2007, when I first started thinking about suicide. This year I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder.
Thank you for taking time to post your experience that you find 200 mg of, dried, I presume, shrooms helpful.

I am new to microdosing myself, but Its my understanding that anywhere between 25mg to 500mg is considered to be a microdose. There are a few calculators online that take into consideration your body weight and what type of mushroom you are using, dry or wet.
I will be trying 300mg soon as thats what the suggested dose is for my body weight and dried mushrooms.
As for the effects, yes I feel the mushrooms doing something, things are just better all round, I can function a LOT better on days when I am microdosing. Much more cognitive, memory improved, feelings of wellbeing and thankfulness. I find it easier to talk to people and actually concentrate on what they are saying, something any person with ADHD will know is a challenge! Things that would typically annoy me just fly over my head.

Dozza, welcome to the tribe
Please do NOT in your enthusiasm start taking more and more. You have anxiety issues and if trips get so intense that they start triggering panic attacks, this may stick with you even on low doses.
Low Dose, High Adventure.
Use a LOW DOSE and use the HIGH VOLTAGE of your ADHD to magnify the effects.
Let most of the power come from YOU, not the shroom
I'll use a simple metaphor:
Imagine you like music to be intense.
If you dial up the volume, you will go deaf. You LOSE function.
If you dial up your LISTENING, your hearing increases, you GAIN function.
I mean this kindly: You have the power of , use that to drive a mild effect skyhigh.

Yes, 200mg of dried mushrooms that have been put in a capsule.
From my experience so far, this has had the most profound impact on my mental health, a very positive impact.
As I said above, a noticeable difference in cognition, memory and concentration. Anxiety is much reduced. When I am microdosing, I am not scanning the horizon for the next thing to go wrong, but rather excepting things for what they are and not worrying about stuff that hasn't even happened yet, and most likely never will!
I think its definitely worth giving microdosing a try, start low and work up to a dose that works for you. This is just my opinion and experience, I am not a doctor or health professional, so take what I say with a pinch of salt, I am just giving my experience.
My biggest challenge has been actually obtaining the mushrooms as they are illegal to have in your possession here in the UK, wet or dry!
Hopefully as the whole psychedelic therapy movement gains traction, the law may change, but that wont hhappen anytime soon sadly.

Thanks for your insight Asante, I appreciate it. And your metaphor is bang on
I am not one for using high doses and actually tripping, I have had a bad trip many years ago and dont really want to experience that again!
I am simply sticking with low doses, 200 to 300mg for 4 days, then 3 days off. So far this is working well for me.
I totally understand that most of the power needs to come from me, the shrooms simply help kickstart my mind into a better place.
I'd be interested to know what others choose as their daily dose of dried muchroom.
