Trichocereus Spachianus
    #2743783 - 05/29/04 10:32 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I have about 40 Trichocereus Spachianus seeds. Unfortunately, I know almost nothing about the cati(?) or how to grow it. I have a 20 gal fish tank and was thinking about planting them in there. Has anyone grown these before? Any tips/ links would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks!

Use the same growing procedures as you would for other Trichos like pachanoi and peruvianus... http://www.cactus-mall.com/ccc/

Nan's Nook Seeds Section

And I dunno about the fish tank, you usually want easy to transplant containers for such spiny cactuses.

And while we're on the subject, does anyone know the activity of spachianus? I've been debating with myself this week whether its usable or not.

I have a spachianus myself but I don't have a clue about the activity. AFAIK there have only been two sets of published data on alkaloid content, and they contradict eachother.

I love my spachianuses. Nice fast growers, and should be good grafting stock.
