Peyote from seed to fruit 1

Hi there guys. Long time no see ! Hope all is alright with you and your loved ones in this shitty global times. But alas, beautiful things happen now and then and this one just happened to me. I will recall this post from one year ago. A pleasant surprise which I tried to germinate this year with good results !
Fact is, I searched online for some information about this little ones. Learned some things, applied some of my knowledge and came up with a decent method for this. I followed this particular process from this site.
I used a simple 1.5lt plastic bottle, top and bottom, to create a kind of dome. drilled 4 or 5 holes in the bottom for drainage and water feeding. I also learned - not in that site - it is easy for the substrate to suffer from fungal and bacterial infections. I used the same soil my actual peyote is in. It's a 50:50 mix of sand and universal soil. So I thought about sterilizing it first. I read some online articles pointing to the use of fungicides but I though it was just too much. After reading this article, I was aware the same principle could be used in this project. Therefore, I proceeded to make 1:10 h2o2:h2o water solution, aprox. 200ml. Then used a bowl to mix the water with 200ml of the substrate mix or until it was saturated. Let it rest for a couple of hours then drain the excess. It ends up in the microwave for a partial 1 minute + 1 minute nuking session. Cools down and it's ready to go.
I've got the whole enchilada outside because temps right now are 30c day and 18c night. They are perfect. It gets a couple of hours of direct light during the morning and the rest is in the shade. Substrate seems not affected by any infection, fungal or bacterial. I feed it from the bottom, on the plate it's on. Thermodynamics of the dome take care of Rh, so I rarely open it. They look healthy and all but ... I really wanted to know if following the process of the garden of Eaden is the right thing to do ? I mean, things are going well but do you agree with the timings he's suggesting to change some parameters ? What does your experience tell ?

Please, if you have any tip, let me know. This is my very first time with peyote from seed ! Thanks !
Cheers, Maia

Hi there again guys !
Just a quick update on the babies. They're doing fine. Autumn is in and they will need little to no water. Dome was expanded to lower Rh a bit.

And here's mom right next to them. This was October 20. Can you seed the red fruit on mom ?

Finally mature enough by the 24 and was pick:

Can you count the seeds ?

Four in total. Now drying:

Then, just after a couple of days, it flowers again !

edit
I forgot to add this same peyote fruited before this last time. It happened the October the 2nd. Thus it fruited twice the last month.
One question to the knowledgeable. Is this a common behavior among this cacti ? I mean, I had it for like 4 or 5 years with out much fruiting. Then this year, it exploded. One thing I did different was feeding my cactus with water from my turtle aquarium. Probably it has all the phosphorus it needs. I dunno ... Before that, I did try feeding it with fertilizers (synthetic) before but never managed to make it fruit. I'll probably repeat it next cycle in spring.
Anyway guys, hope you like the update.
Cheers, maia
ps: to the mods. This thread should probably be in the grow logs section. Please, move it there if you feel it's a better option. This thread has grow beyond what I initially intended. My excuses.

Enchanting plants and flower. But the substrate used for germinating isn't too moist?

It's still a bit moist, yes I know. I'm trying to lower it down by just not watering it but I probably stopped a little late. This is my first time growing cactus from seed and I would do many things different now. But, alas, there's not much to do now.

I suggest to add sand and light stones like perlite or lapillus against humidity. How old is the plant who flowered?

I have it since 2018 or so. It was mature already when I got it but like half the size. I'd say it's 6-8 years old but it's just a guess...
It has flowered again last month. 8 seeds.
Meanwhile ... a little update. 5 little ones remain. Well, probably 4 because the smallest and darkest one is not doing well. I transplanted and crafted the babies last month to live with mother. I think she's happier now ... When transplanting, I noticed the tiny hairs were in fact the roots. Most of the babies had like 5 or more little roots but that one had just one small root. But hey ! First time doing cacti and I'm loving it ! Well... this old fart of myself still has much to learn, which is exciting
Today and next days will be hot ... and I'll be germinating more peyote seeds

Take care and much love, MAIA

... then they grow large and need to be transplanted. It will probably be their final fate but, afaik, they are very "mobile" in the sense they're easily pulled from the soil when they mature. I've repotted this mother a few times

Hi there again guys. Hope everything is ok in your neck of the woods. Got some news for y'all.
This is a pic from June 30. Plenty of fruits (thus seeds) and flowers but something new happened to my peyote. At first it seemed like a scar of some sorts. Then I realized it resembled a sort of parasite seen in the movie "Total Recall"... yes ! Quato lives ! It seems this peyote is also capable of producing attached fruitbodies. This cactus is just amazing guys:

On the other hand, I was about to replant the two little remaining offspring to their new home and then repot the big one. It is needed from time to time because they seem to want to get up and just walk out (XD)
Here's how I prepare the mix. I bought some sand for aquariums. This time a bit more coarse and mixed it with soil:

Extracting the two little ones:

And replanting then in their new homes:

Looking nice !!! Then I repotted their mother:

This was done in July. They're doing just fine !
Last weekend I was thinking about the amount of seeds I already have and decided to germinate once again. I used the mix I prepared last time and followed my own tek, described in the first post. I tweaked it here and there. One important change was the use of a paper towel with those "holes". Man ... it's a savior. Otherwise the seeds keep trying to run away. This way they just sit at the holes and stay. I also used a coffee spoon to "clean" the seeds by spreading a light h2o2/h2o mix over them, as they have been stored for a while:

Soooo pretty ! And a giver ! Thx

(One more Quato and more fruit)
Hope you like the update guys. Take care !
Cheers, Maia

Just a quick update. They are doing fine and most of them germinated. Even older seeds with 4 years made it but with a lower rate than recent seeds. Here's the middle one. Seeds were 1 to 2 years old.

Sept 19

Take care !
