ok, now seriously I have a real problem pertaining to this. The last few months my cpu gets so hot so fast that sometimes it just shuts off. And I don't even run many programs or anything, it's a new laptop also and for a while there was nothing like this occurring.. can anyone help me out?

you sure you're not blocking the vents somehow?
you should keep your laptop on a hard surface, never on blankets or cushions that will block the vents.

uhhhhoh.. that's exactly what i've been doing.. i've been using it on my bed.. hehe, oops. Alright, thanks a lot Doc.

yeah, I did the same thing back when I got my first laptop.
just be sure the hot air has a place to go and it should run fine. Those things generate a lot of heat, and most of them have governors that shut them down when they get too hot. Its a good thing, too, because if they didnt have that safety feature, a mistake like that could have fried your expensive hardware!
