I was noticing that every MelMac tub I ever harvested was super dry by the time it was harvest. So halfway through this grow I dumped an extra pint of water on and it appears to have paid off well. Def helped with the final yield wet weight of 2597. Used 5lb spawn bags with maybe 4ish quarts of whole oats, spawned to coir.
Nice one!

Nearly as exciting as my first flush

In a few short months I went from no shrooms to more shrooms than I'll ever need and found a new hobby... Obsession.... that's as much fun as brewing.

Awesome tubs, munch.
I have a few pe tubs starting to pin. Nothing special but they are my first mushrooms not grown inside of my tent.

Munch, I noticed the same thing with my melmacs, and I also bottom-watered mid-fruiting of my last batch... and I was well rewarded for the effort, or at least it seems like it helped.
Here's my latest harvest... some Texas White Cap beauties in two shoeboxes. Veil porn first, caught these as they were getting all spiderwebby:

Here are both boxes, and the harvested mess from the denser of the two... The denser batch went sporeless, or clear-spored, not sure.

Shout out to p9hu7 (I think??) for mentioning using a trowel to tamp down the sub. This is my first attempt at it, and I think it made a big difference. If nothing else, these were ready to harvest at 14 days, which is about as good as I'll ever get.

Why the trowel? Is bottom watering as simple as it sounds? Do you often do it mid fruiting?

Trowels are so good for leveling big tubs.
That was probably my weakest skill until I found a cement leveler thing in the garage.

I read about that in one of your posts and grabbed one for $7 at Lowes.

I misted a bit after taking these because it didnt look like there are enough water droplets. Was that the right decision?

It looked as if it had plenty of moisture. What can you running them in? Shoebox, mono? I would leave it be. The sides of your tub have plenty of condensation as well.

It's a shoebox. I saw some pics where the whole bed was beaded with droplets so I got worried since mine only has a few and some small clusters of very fine droplets, but from now on I'll take that as being OK. Thanks dude.

Lookin good. I was curious, are those the same lids you can get at Walmart? Are they heat resistant? I got some but there is a warning about the dishwasher so I thought they might not hold up in the pc
