am I crazy? or does anyone else think the PF tek is a pain
    #2742846 - 05/28/04 10:39 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I have had cakes that never did anything once birthed but I have never had a casing completly fail key point I am pretty clean so contams never really hit except after a flush or two or in the middle summer when its 95* constantly
PF tek is just bunch of hassle for too little return
anyone else feel this way?

on a side note anyone use the pelleted poo from myco supply?
just got some will update as soon as there is growth hopfully this will work out well!

Give it a try. A easy grain tek.

Screw the PF tek. I got like 4 dry grams a jar with it. I get 1+ ounces per quart jar of grain. My first grow was birdseed and I got 1.3 ounces a jar. Just ignore the pftek is what I say.

The PF Tek may be a pain in the ass with low yields. However, everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that it it is probably the best hands on way to learn about the mycelial growth process. When you case you don't get as clear of view how differently myc grows once it is exposed to humidity and fresh air. While I no longer use this tek anymore, I still think that every noob should have to experience the trials and tribulations of the PF. Just my tew scents.

I agree to a point. I do feel everybody should do the pf tek for one main reason. When done to the letter it is pretty much fool proof. Now the myc and air thing, with casing you put it in the chamber when you see myc break the casing layer so they will see how it grows in fresh air. ( For some reason I think you may mean something different then what I'm covering here)

Not only do I think noobs should do it but everybody should stop and do it every few years or so. (just so you can be damn thankful for the method you are using now  )

Something about learning to crawl before you walk and all that...

The PF tek should be tried at least once even if it is just to honor the home cultivation phenomenon. That said, the PF tek has nothing on cased grain-spawned poo.

Go back from poo to cakes?  What a scary, scary thought.  That sure would give me the ultimate appreciation for what I've learned!
