Your getting reasy for oyster at the farmers market? Selling premade petris on etsy?
Nothing illegal about books shoeboxes or a lab.
Most people, you could hold a cubemsis right in front of their face and they, 1, would have no idea what it is, 2, probably think its woerd and gross that you think its so interesting. They may leave you alone forever

hey, from time to time I started to get mold on LC surface. Each time it appears late after 2-3 weeks of full colonization. Any chance myc produce that itself? Just thinking

That why lc has to be tested first, there's no guarantee it's clean

If you don’t stir lc it’ll grow on the surface and then pin.
Hydro shrooms
I had this happen a couple months ago. I wasn’t paying attention so I just grabbed the jar and shook it up but then when I went to suck some out noticed a mat of myc with a shroom floating around inside.

Of course it could also be dirty or the filter failed and a spore fell onto the surface. I’ve never watched the process of myc colonizing the surface but that looks like mycelium to me.

Thank you! Interesting. It really looks like myc and time of appearance grab my attention also. And yeah, I stop to stirr it after it became colonized. I will make agar tests I guess

I'm not sure that's myc but it could well be. Looks a bit wispy, I would test the lc as I said.
The lc I currently have grows all over the surface with the agar but it looks different.

God damn, sorry to hear that. Like others have said, there's nothing illegal about cultivating mushrooms inherently, and most people don't know the difference between a psychedelic mushroom and a gourmet mushroom. I would say hide the really obvious stuff, but anything that could be explained as you just cultivating gourmet mushrooms as a hobby, I would leave out. My property manager came into my apartment a few times to fix odds and ends, and he walked right past my little lab setup without saying a word. I just keep my dry fruits and fruiting shoboxes in a slightly more hidden spot.

I got one of these Sterilite 17611704 60 Quart Bins early on, in the anticipation of needing to stash my jars and other smaller supplies. I got mine in the store on sale for around $15. It fits under my bed well and holds quite a lot of supplies. Since I don't have any jars in the works right now, I keep my clean jars in them. I can stack two layers (on their sides) in the original foam packaging before it reaches the top. I have around 60 half pints in there, 40 quarter pints, a ton of glass weed jars from the husband, a sleeve of condiment cups, and a bunch of other little things.
The appraiser has seen it all. I highly doubt you'll shock them with some mycology stuff. Plus, as others have said, there isn't anything illegal about growing normies. I had stacks of totes in all sizes before I ever started growing.
I would still be a little cautious though, for ease of mind. Stash any liquid cultures and petris first, then go from there with the rest of the supplies like your metal tools and prints.
And of course, hide your dried stash. You'll probably want those hidden the best. Nobody should be looking under your bed or going through personal stuff though. The appraiser that visited my place spent far more time outside than inside.
PS: If your landlord is having anyone come in for appraising or assessing property, make sure you're there and take a dated note of what you observe. In some states landlords do this and then look for reasons to evict tenants and there are usually laws in place that prevent landlords from evicting you or refusing to renew a lease within 6 months after an appraisal. It probably isn't the case, but better smart and safe than not.

Yeah if you throw most of the stuff into a tub or a closet you should be good.
I’d guess 99% of people would have no idea what they’re looking at anyway unless there are mushrooms growing they can see. Shoeboxes or spawn jars or whatever probably won’t even register.

No, man, neck deep in well progressed if still noobistically inept actives cult -- cubes currently.
Got a dude at the Farmer's Market already committed to selling medicinals, reishi to start! A whole new area of exploration!
Yeah, they may actually be pulling equity out in this crazy high market like they say.
Thanks everybody. I know I'll manage. Wife and I get along great when we don't live in the same house but nearby. Appropriately stashing all I must in corrugated cartons and some of the 10Bn bins around my hut. Putting the 1/2-gallon amber mason quarts full of dried cube fruits in furniture. They can [an I will prepare for] look everywhere except in the furniture. So that's my plan. I have a ton of cultworks spread out but once consolidated I should manage. My assistant for my art biz can help on Monday. [She grew up on the farms east of here ] Luckily that's her one day on next week.
Worst case, I'm gonna put shit in the SUV and if that don't do it will put it at SpacMomma's place. Luckily I just got offered but haven't yet picked up the 224x48 FH!
Pesky PTSD!

I turned off the ac for an hour while doing sterile work and when I checked the room with my shoebox the meter said 104F high, and current was 91F .
The room has a south facing window so the sun was responsible for that one. The box was sweating water all over the sides of the substrate. Do you guys think its a bad idea to get so much sun? Or if the AC can keep the room cool enough it's ok?

Most people dnt give a fuck and cant remember shit. Ive shown a handful of coworkers and neighbors my lab in full swing over the years, and they generally cant recognize anything to reference it so they dnt remember it.
It's weirdos without jobs and chicken-heads you gotta be concerned about. Fucking chicken-heads.
