i think he's just trying to drop humidity for abit, i can't say it would cause much diff,since frequent fanning should be doing that.

You need 4 things to make it fruit:

1 - proper humidity level of over 90%
2 - fresh air at least every few hours
3 - some light, not much, just an hour or so a day will suffice, more is ok too
4 - the most important thing: PATIENCE
